Tucked inside one of Walt Disney World's most visited destinations is a pickup location for the Legoland Express, a shuttle service that runs directly from Disney Springs to Legoland Florida Resort in Winter Haven. Most guests walking through Disney Springs have absolutely no idea it exists. The ones who do are getting to Legoland Florida for eight dollars a person without touching a steering wheel.
That is the kind of travel hack that deserves much more attention than it currently gets.
How This Even Happened
The Legoland Express launched on May 21, 2026, with two Orlando-area pickup locations. Disney Springs was part of the service from day one, alongside ICON Park. The shuttle is operated by Mears, a name Central Florida transportation regulars will recognize immediately, and it runs on a seasonal schedule that shifts depending on the time of year.
Disney Springs does accommodate select third-party transportation providers alongside its own Disney-operated buses and watercraft, which is how a Legoland Florida shuttle ended up departing from the heart of Walt Disney World territory. It is an unusual arrangement, and one that benefits families far more than the current level of awareness around it would suggest.
The Case for Legoland Florida
For anyone who has not made the trip to Winter Haven lately, Legoland Florida is not a park to sleep on. It is purpose-built for younger kids, targeting roughly the two to twelve age range, and it delivers an experience that the major Orlando parks simply cannot replicate for that demographic. The rides are scaled appropriately, the theming is creative and immersive in a way that feels genuinely kid-focused rather than kid-tolerant, and the overall energy of the day is manageable in a way that a Magic Kingdom or Universal Studios visit often is not for families with very young children.
The park sits about 50 minutes from Walt Disney World, which has historically been the friction point for a lot of families. Getting there meant a highway drive through unfamiliar territory, paid parking, and the kind of logistical effort that eats into vacation energy before the day even starts. The Legoland Express removes every single one of those friction points in one shot.
What the Shuttle Actually Looks Like
Guests boarding at Disney Springs depart at 9 a.m., arriving at Legoland Florida right around the park's standard 10 a.m. opening time. The ICON Park pickup runs slightly earlier at 8:30 a.m. for guests coming from that direction. The return shuttle departs 30 minutes after Legoland Florida closes for the evening, with the exact time varying based on that day's park hours.
The Mears-operated shuttle is wheelchair accessible, though guests who need a dedicated wheelchair space are strongly encouraged to book that specific ticket type when reserving to guarantee availability. Limited stroller storage is also available on board, which matters significantly for the demographic this service is clearly designed to serve.
Tickets must be reserved in advance through Legoland Florida's website. Round-trip pricing starts at eight dollars per person, which is frankly an absurd value for what it delivers.
When It Runs
The summer schedule covers Thursday through Sunday. September and October are narrowed to Friday and Saturday. November has not been announced yet, so anyone planning a fall trip should keep an eye on updates from Legoland Florida directly.
