Construction Finally Ends in Busy Section of Universal Orlando Park

Universal Orlando Resort has completed another behind-the-scenes upgrade at Islands of Adventure. A bridge that connects two of the park’s most recognizable lands has officially finished refurbishment, removing the last remaining construction elements from the area.

The bridge linking The Lost Continent and Seuss Landing has been under renovation for some time, with work taking place gradually throughout the past year. Now, all signs of construction have disappeared, and guests can once again cross the walkway as usual.

Although the project may seem small compared to new attractions or land expansions, it plays a key role in maintaining the park’s infrastructure.

Why This Bridge Matters

Inside a theme park as busy as Islands of Adventure, bridges and pathways are some of the most heavily used areas.

Thousands of visitors pass over them every day as they move between attractions, restaurants, and different themed lands. Over time, that constant traffic can cause wear on flooring, railings, and other structural elements.

That’s why Universal periodically refurbishes these structures. By updating them when necessary, the park can maintain both safety and visual quality.

The newly completed bridge is a good example of how these maintenance projects work.

What Was Refurbished

The refurbishment included several upgrades designed to improve both the look and durability of the bridge.

The flooring was replaced with a wood plank-style design that better matches the surrounding environments. This change gives the walkway a more themed appearance while still maintaining the same overall structure.

The railings also received refurbishment work to ensure the bridge remains safe for daily use.

To complete the refresh, lanterns were installed along the sides of the walkway. These additions add subtle detail and help the bridge blend more naturally with the nearby lands.

With these updates finished, the bridge now looks cleaner and more polished than it did before construction began.

Construction Moves to Another Location

Even though this project has wrapped up, construction activity in the area isn’t completely finished.

The nearby bridge connecting Jurassic Park to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is currently closed. Construction walls block both sides of the walkway, while scaffolding and scrim surround the bridge itself.

This route normally serves as a primary pathway between the two lands and is also well known as a scenic photo location.

Because of the closure, guests currently need to take a different route through the park.

Alternative Routes Through the Park

Visitors traveling between Jurassic Park and Hogsmeade can still reach both lands by walking through The Lost Continent.

The pathway near VelociCoaster leads into The Lost Continent, which then connects to Hogsmeade through the park’s normal walkways.

While the detour may add a few extra minutes of walking, it still allows guests to move between the areas without leaving the park’s main routes.

As Universal continues maintaining its infrastructure, projects like these ensure that Islands of Adventure remains both functional and immersive for the millions of guests who visit every year.
