The last remaining Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attraction in the United States just landed on Disney's construction radar…But guests shouldn't panic about a ride closure just yet.
Permit Filed Tuesday Morning

Walt Disney World Resort‘s Facility Asset Management team filed a construction permit with the Orange County Comptroller on Tuesday, March 17, listing MLC Theming as the third-party contractor for general construction work at the address corresponding to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
MLC Theming's own website describes their specialty as “scenic painting and aging of structures, fabricating facades, carving rock work, and more” — the kind of cosmetic and theming work that points toward a surface-level refresh rather than anything mechanical. The company is no stranger to Walt Disney World Resort, having previously been listed as the contractor for work on The Haunted Mansion and near Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom Park.

Walt Disney World Resort has not issued any public statement about the project, which is consistent with how the resort handles minor maintenance and cosmetic refurbishments.
No Closure on the Books
Despite the permit filing, no refurbishment closure is currently scheduled for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, suggesting the planned work won't affect the ride system itself. Guests with upcoming visits to Disney's Hollywood Studios shouldn't expect any disruptions to the attraction in the near future.

The permit news lands at an already active moment for Sunset Boulevard. Right next door, Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is mid-transformation into Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, inspired by the Muppets Mayhem musical series. Walt Disney Imagineering announced this reimagining after confirming that Muppets Courtyard and Muppet*Vision 3D would permanently close in 2025 to make room for a Monsters, Inc. (2001)-inspired land and coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios is the only operating version of the original attraction in the United States. Disneyland Resort converted its version into Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! back in 2017.
Localized versions of the original Tower of Terror ride continue operating at Disneyland Paris Resort and Tokyo Disney Resort.
