It appears that another Guest-on-Guest altercation occurred at another Disney World attraction recently. This time, the ever more familiar scene was set at EPCOT’s newest ride, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Opening earlier this year, Cosmic Rewind is a state-of-the-art indoor roller coaster and Disney World’s first permanent installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring Chris Pratt, Zoey Saldana, and the rest of the original Guardians cast and directed by James Gunn. Due to the attraction’s popularity, it is still only accessible via a virtual queue.
A recent video uploaded to TikTok shows Cosmic Rewind became just the latest example in a growing debate around filming POV ride videos using cell phones.
TikTok user @disneyparksdiy was getting ready to firm a run on Cosmic Rewind when the woman sitting in front of him asked him not to.

The woman asked because she was worried about the phone falling out of his hands. He denied her request. She turned to the ride operator, who just shrugged. The video then cuts to the end of the ride, where the filmer trolls the woman saying, “hands of steel.”
But several stories have emerged recently involving people on roller coasters getting hit by cell phones that have fallen out of the hands of people trying to film a POV video. A conversation surrounding whether or not it was smart to keep one’s phone out continued in the comments.

Several of the comments sided with the TikToker, but others stepped in for the other side, including one who said, “as a former ride/coaster op, it actually is a genuine safety concern…people have lost teeth.”
