More About the Former Laughin’ Place Playground
The Laughin’ Place playground, formerly situated near Splash Mountain (now Tiana’s Bayou Adventure) in Magic Kingdom Park, was a whimsical and interactive area designed to engage young children while providing a charming nod to the playful themes of Splash Mountain.
Inspired by the “Laughin’ Place” segment from the movie Song of the South, this play area featured a variety of elements that allowed kids to explore, climb, and slide in a safe and imaginative environment. The playground included tunnels, small slides, and water features that added an extra layer of fun, especially during hot Florida days.
Nestled in the Frontierland section of the park, the Laughin’ Place playground was surrounded by lush landscaping and rustic theming that complemented the nearby Splash Mountain attraction. It served as a perfect spot for families to take a break, with ample seating for parents to relax while their children played. Though relatively small, the playground was beloved by many for its charming design and the way it seamlessly integrated with the overall storytelling and atmosphere of Frontierland.
With Disney’s decision to remove all references to the controversial Song of the South film, the playground has been removed with the overhaul of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
