Recent buzz is swirling around a mysterious new filing from the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD), formerly known as Reedy Creek.
This filing hints at the possibility of a new hotel at Disney World—or maybe not a new hotel at all. Confused? Let’s break it down. The intriguingly labeled “Project S” filing suggests that the CFTOD is considering a Master Services Agreement for installing new electrical transformers. According to the document, the project aims to set up a new transformer service yard, a transformer loop, and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) monitoring cabinets for a “new resort.”

Just recently, Disney filed for a permit to refurbish the Wilderness Lodge, adding fuel to the fire that the Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge project might not be dead after all. The work is set to take place near the Copper Creek Villas and Cascade Cabins—the very area where Reflections was supposed to make its grand debut. Disney first announced Reflections—A Disney Lakeside Lodge in 2018 for those needing a refresher. The resort was slated to rise on Bay Lake, between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, on the land formerly known as River Country.
This deluxe resort was planned to feature over 900 rooms, including a mix of Disney Vacation Club villas and a Princess and the Frog-themed restaurant. Concept art was released, and then… silence. Disney hasn’t officially confirmed anything about this potential project, but the recent filings have certainly reignited hope that something exciting might be on the horizon.
