Walt Disney World has decided to extend the hours of its beloved Magic Kingdom, providing guests more opportunities to enjoy all that the park has to offer. The new closing time is set for 11 p.m., effective July 20, 2025. This extension will remain in place at least through August 2, 2025, and there’s a possibility for further extensions depending on guest demand and park plans.

These extended hours are a welcome change for everyone visiting, as they offer an extra chance to experience the magic that the park encompasses. Whether guests aim to catch rides, see shows, or simply soak in the atmosphere, having additional time enhances their overall experience at one of the happiest places on Earth.

Alongside the extended hours, the new nighttime parade, titled Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, is set to launch on July 20, 2025. This exciting event marks the return of a daily nighttime parade to Magic Kingdom, the first of its kind since the beloved Main Street Electrical Parade concluded its run in 2016. With vibrant floats, stunning performances, and an array of characters from popular Disney films, this parade promises to be a spectacular highlight for visitors of all ages.

The parade will feature characters from timeless classics like Moana, Peter Pan, and Frozen, bringing beloved stories to life under the twinkling night sky. As guests watch the floats go by, they will find themselves immersed in the enchanting world of Disney, making for cherished memories.

Magic Kingdom boasts a vast layout filled with numerous attractions and experiences. With areas dedicated to fantasy, adventure, and exploration, guests would need every available moment to fully appreciate all the park has to offer. From the whimsical rides in Fantasyland to the futuristic thrills of Tomorrowland, there are countless adventures waiting to be had.

Popular rides such as Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and it’s a small world are just a few of the must-visit attractions that can easily consume an entire day’s itinerary. Each region offers unique experiences, ensuring that every guest can find something that resonates with their interests. The extended park hours provide a fantastic opportunity for families and friends to savor as much of the magic as possible during their visit.

While the rides and attractions are a major draw, dining and shopping experiences at Magic Kingdom should not be overlooked. The park features a variety of dining locations, each offering different cuisines and atmospheres. From the quick-service delights at Casey’s Corner to the beloved Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, there’s something to please everyone’s palate.

It’s important for guests to be aware, however, that food service locations may close earlier than the park itself. Dining establishments often wrap up business well before the clock strikes eleven, so planning meal times accordingly is essential for those looking to indulge in the park’s culinary offerings. Additionally, the shopping opportunities on Main Street, U.S.A. provide guests with a chance to take home a piece of Disney magic, but these stores too will have their own hours and could close before the park.

As Magic Kingdom continues to evolve, exciting developments are on the horizon. Changes are underway, including the upcoming transition to a new Cars-themed area known as Piston Peak. This means that some attractions will be closed permanently to make way for these new experiences, leading to a bittersweet shift in the park’s landscape.

Popular attractions like Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat will cease operations, marking the end of an era for these beloved features. Guests wishing to enjoy these classic experiences should plan their visits accordingly, as the time is limited. The excitement of the new developments and the nostalgia of current offerings create a unique juxtaposition that guests will experience in the coming months.
