Being a Walt Disney World Cast Member comes with a number of perks, including complimentary entry into Disney theme parks (with block out dates), discounts on merchandise, dining, resorts stays, additional park tickets, and more. Now, with the resort’s 50th-anniversary celebration well underway, Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle has announced a brand new Cast-exclusive offering, “Cast Member EARidescent Evenings.”
The event will take place this summer at three of the four Walt Disney World theme parks, including the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Each Cast Member will be able to choose one evening to experience this exclusive EARidescent after-hours event at one of the three parks with complimentary admission for themselves and a guest.
So far, the event sounds similar to after-hours parties Guests can experience, with little to no waits for favorite theme park attractions, unique character sightings, and food and beverage options, but as a Cast-exclusive event we would expect some extra special surprises. (The rare Dumbo character meet and greet that took place recently for instance was last seen during a Cast Member-exclusive Disney College Program event in 2016.) Dates have not yet been released for the event, but current Disney Cast Members will find additional information on the HUB as it is available.
While Disney Cast Members do have complimentary access to visiting the theme parks during regular operating hours, their ability to spend time in the parks lately has been limited as block out dates have been widespread, and getting reservations has been extremely challenging. The event then will certainly help Cast Members who have been trying to visit the parks themselves to no avail, however, many are still hoping that the reservation system loosens up and they will start finding it easier to visit during daytime hours soon.
If you are a Walt Disney World Cast Member, be sure to check back on the HUB for complete details and dates for the event as they are released.
