For many Disneyland visitors, one of the most enchanting experiences of any trip is the spectacular nighttime parade. Paint the Night has illuminated the streets of Disneyland since 2015, offering a vibrant display of lights, music, and beloved characters.
As we approach the holiday season, fans of the parade are facing some bittersweet news: Paint the Night will be going on a temporary break.

The beloved parade made its debut during Disneyland’s 60th anniversary, bringing fans closer to iconic Disney princesses, sidekicks, and more — each float aglow with thousands of twinkling lights. Over the years, it has become a symbol of the magic that Disneyland is known for, offering guests a memorable end to their day at the park.
However, as Disneyland gears up for the holiday season, Paint the Night will make way for A Christmas Fantasy Parade. The final performance of Paint the Night will take place on November 9, 2025. After this, the parade will go on a brief hiatus to accommodate the seasonal transition.
The holiday season will officially kick off on November 14, when A Christmas Fantasy Parade takes over the nighttime entertainment lineup.

Though Paint the Night will be temporarily unavailable, there’s no reason to worry. Disneyland has confirmed that the parade will make its return after the holiday season. This brief break allows Disney to prepare for its signature holiday shows, which include the festive A Christmas Fantasy Parade and the dazzling “Believe… In Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular.
With Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration in full swing, there’s plenty to be excited about, even with Paint the Night stepping aside for a moment. In addition to the holiday parade, the park is also preparing to welcome new projections and shows that will help ring in the season of magic.
If you’ve been planning to see Paint the Night before it goes on hiatus, be sure to visit before November 9. The parade will return after the holiday season, so fans won’t have to wait too long to experience it again.
As Disneyland embraces its 70th Anniversary celebrations, there’s no shortage of exciting events and shows to keep guests entertained.
