One of EPCOT's oldest attractions has received a last-minute reprieve.
Since opening with EPCOT in 1982, Impressions de France has taken guests on an 18-minute cinematic journey through France. Located in World Showcase's France pavilion, the attraction is one of the few remaining experiences from the park's opening day.

However, its future recently looked a little less promising. Disney's initial operating calendar for January 2027 suggested that the film would lose its evening performances, leaving guests with just 30 minutes each morning to experience the attraction.
Now, following backlash from longtime EPCOT fans, Disney appears to have changed course.
Disney Restores Evening Hours for Classic EPCOT Attraction
Walt Disney World has updated its operating calendar for 2027, restoring the evening performances of Impressions de France that were previously missing from its schedule.
The film is once again scheduled to operate from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in January, maintaining its existing operating hours rather than moving exclusively to mornings.
The original schedule sparked frustration among EPCOT fans, particularly as the attraction only recently reopened following a refurbishment that closed its theater between February and May 2026.

“Disney just completed a multi-month refurb on Palais du Cinéma, only to screw over Impressions de France yet again. The theater has never looked better, and somehow they can’t manage to show its feature film for more than 30 minutes a day,” complained one X user.
Another was equally frustrated, writing, “It's a terrible tragedy that Impressions de France has had its evening hours cut. It's a true EPCOT Center classic.”
They continued, “and it already had atrocious hours prior to this ONE showing is not acceptable, I've already let guest relations know & I encourage everyone else to as well!”
With Disney now restoring the evening performances, some fans have jokingly taken credit for the apparent reversal.

“Bullying works,” wrote one X user.
“Well, I guess it worked,” added another.
Disney has not publicly explained why the evening showtimes initially disappeared or whether guest complaints played any role in their restoration.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time Disney has seemingly reversed course on the attraction's operating hours.
In March 2023, Impressions de France similarly lost its evening performances, leaving the film available for just half an hour each morning. Disney restored its original schedule just three days later.

Since January 2020, Impressions de France has shared its theater with the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, which occupies the space for most of the day.
The latter experience is still scheduled to operate between 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in January 2027, meaning neither attraction will lose any of its existing operating hours.
For longtime EPCOT fans, the update comes as welcome news amid ongoing changes to the park's attractions and entertainment lineup.
While Disney has yet to confirm whether the original reduction was intentional or simply a scheduling error, guests can now expect to enjoy Impressions de France in the evenings throughout the currently published January schedule.
As always, operating hours remain subject to change.
