Disneyland Resort is officially closing the curtain on one of its long-running preschool entertainment offerings, marking a major change for families visiting Disney California Adventure Park.
Disney Jr Dance Party! has officially ended its seven-year run at Disney California Adventure Park, with Disneyland Resort confirming the show has permanently closed as of Sunday, March 23. The high-energy stage show has been a staple for families with preschool-aged children since its debut in 2017, giving young fans a chance to sing, dance, and interact with their favorite Disney Junior characters.
A Preschool Favorite Departs Disney California Adventure
The closure of Disney Jr Dance Party! may not come as a total surprise to longtime fans. Earlier this month, all showtimes for the experience were quietly removed from Disneyland Resort’s official website, prompting speculation that the Hollywood Land offering had reached the end of its run. The speculation was confirmed the day after the final performance.
On Monday, March 24, Disneyland Resort released a statement confirming the show’s closure and teasing what’s next. According to theme park journalist Scott Gustin on X (@scottgustin), “Disney Jr. Dance Party! at Disney California Adventure held its last performance yesterday. Disney says the show ended to make way for a new show set to debut later this year. More details will be shared soon.”

While no opening date has been announced, Disneyland Resort did confirm that a new show will replace Disney Jr Dance Party! in the same Hollywood Land location. Guests can expect additional information in the coming months.
A History of Disney Junior Entertainment
Before Disney Jr Dance Party! debuted in 2017, the location housed another preschool-focused show: Disney Junior – Live on Stage!. That show was also performed in the Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort.
Over the years, Disney Jr Dance Party! featured rotating characters from popular Disney Junior television series, including Fancy Nancy, Sofia the First, Vampirina, The Lion Guard, Mickey and the Roadster Racers, and Doc McStuffins. The show was especially popular with toddlers and preschool-aged children, offering a rare space where younger guests could fully engage with familiar characters in a low-stress, indoor environment.
What Comes Next for Hollywood Land?
Disneyland Resort has not revealed which characters or franchises will be featured in the new Disney California Adventure Park show. However, the Southern California resort destination is preparing for its 70th anniversary celebration, which kicks off on May 16, 2025.
As part of the celebration, Disney California Adventure Park is set to debut an all-new nighttime spectacular titled “World of Color – ONE: Happiness,” bring back the fan-favorite Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade, and update the Toy Story Midway Mania! attraction in Pixar Pier.
Whether the new stage show will tie into the anniversary festivities or spotlight new Disney Junior characters remains to be seen.
