Last month, a Disney California Adventure Park cast member suddenly collapsed in front of several Disneyland Resort guests. According to witness reports, the cast member fainted near Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, part of the San Fransokyo Square area.
Reddit user u/Meoldic-Newt1904 shared their experience of witnessing the collapse in a post on social media, where they asked if anyone had any updates on the condition of the cast member. The Disney Park guest said it appeared that the man stayed on the ground “for quite some time.” Fortunately, a bystander who was standing nearby quickly stepped in to help.
“Luckily there was a man standing nearby him when the episode happened and helped him get to the ground safely,” the Redditor explained. This immediate response helped stabilize the cast member until further assistance arrived. In an effort to shield the incident from children nearby and give the cast member privacy, the Redditor’s husband suggested bystanders use a restaurant cart to block the scene.
“My husband walked over and advised the 3 people around him to turn him on to his side and used the cart of trays to block him while they waited for security and medics to come,” the guest added.
The family left the area before medical personnel arrived, and there were no further updates on his condition. Disneyland Resort has not released any information regarding the Disney California Adventure Park cast member’s recovery, likely out of respect for his privacy.
If you ever witness a similar medical emergency at any Disney park, notify a cast member right away–they can contact security and on-site medical teams. Lean on your fellow Disney Park guests; if off-duty medical professionals are nearby, they can assist in the interim.
