Disneyland’s A Christmas Fantasy Parade is a beloved part of the park’s holiday celebrations, filled with festive cheer and iconic characters. However, this week’s parade featured an unexpected moment that served as a reminder of the complexities behind live performances – and how fast-thinking cast members are the glue that holds all Disney parks together.
A Snowman Stumbles in A Christmas Fantasy Parade
During the festive procession, one of the character performers, dressed as a snowman, fell while dancing down Main Street, U.S.A. The incident quickly caught the attention of onlookers and was shared on social media by Good Morning America.
As the snowman performer struggled to get back up, fellow snowmen rushed to offer assistance. However, it was a non-performer Disney cast member who stepped in to help the performer regain their balance and continue down the parade route. Despite the stumble and interruption of the performance, the rest of the parade continued as planned.

Dressed in elaborate, heavy costumes with limited visibility and mobility, it’s not uncommon for performers to experience difficulties while staying in character. Disney prepares its cast members for such moments, with performers trained to use subtle signals to alert attendants or fellow cast members when they need assistance. These quick responses help minimize disruptions, ensuring the show can go on without major setbacks.
Similar Disney Incidents
This is far from the first time we’ve seen a Disney character take a fall. In the past, some of the most dramatic incidents have included Dopey slipping during a performance of Fantasmic!, falling through the boat’s guardrails, and landing on the deck below.
Earlier in 2024, a guest filed a lawsuit against Disneyland Resort following an alleged injury caused by another case of a character falling at Disney California Adventure Park.
Katrina Griffin sued Disney after allegedly being struck by a cast member dressed as Goofy. Griffin, who was bent over tying her daughter’s shoelaces at the time, claimed the performer walked directly into her, causing her to fall onto the “hard cement” and suffer severe injuries. Although she didn’t specify her injuries, Griffin contended that the fall left her permanently disabled and unable to work.
