A playful moment at Tokyo Disney Resort recently caught the attention of fans worldwide when one character performer “bit” another during a waterway parade at Tokyo DisneySea. The incident, captured on video and shared on social media, shows Gelatoni, the mischievous cat, taking a lighthearted nibble at ‘Olu Mel, the turtle.
This floating show features a cast of characters not often seen in the United States Disney parks, including Duffy Bear, ShellieMay, StellaLou, CookieAnn, ‘Olu Mel, and LinaBell. Duffy Bear, a creation first introduced in 2002 as a handmade gift from Minnie Mouse to Mickey Mouse, has become a beloved figure internationally, alongside his whimsical animal friends.
On April 29, as the boat carrying these characters cruised through Tokyo DisneySea’s waterways, Gelatoni playfully “bit” ‘Olu Mel’s hand. The moment was caught and shared by @mouseinfo on X (formerly Twitter), quickly gaining popularity among Disney Parks fans.

Despite the brief “attack,” ‘Olu Mel seemed unbothered, resting his hand on the boat’s edge before resuming his cheerful waving at Disney Park guests. Duffy Bear, ShellieMay, and their friends didn’t even notice the conflict.
The video resonated with Disney Parks fans, garnering thousands of views and plenty of laughs.
“What the? Did Gelatoni seriously bite Olu’s hand for waving?! WTH IS THIS?!” @DouglasVitrano joked.
