For Disney Cruise Line fans living around New York City, getting aboard a Disney ship is about to become considerably easier.
Disney Cruise Line will officially return to New York in fall 2027, ending an absence that began after its final sailings from the city in 2023.
This won't be an isolated departure, either. Disney has lined up seven itineraries aboard the Disney Wish, with cruises running from September 29 through early November 2027. Destinations include Bermuda, Canada, New England, and Puerto Rico.
For the Disney Wish, the schedule also represents a first: the ship has never sailed from New York before.
New York Is Back on Disney's Cruise Schedule
Disney Cruise Line has used New York periodically over the years, but the city hasn't been part of its recent schedules.
The Disney Dream was the last Disney ship to depart from New York, operating Bermuda and Eastern Canada voyages in fall 2023. Disney then stepped away from the city as it continued concentrating heavily on other ports.
Four years later, Disney is coming back with a different ship and plenty of itinerary choices.
The Disney Wish's New York season starts September 29, 2027, with a four-night Bermuda cruise.
That voyage includes two days at King’s Wharf before returning to New York on October 3. Inside stateroom prices currently begin at $4,222, while oceanview accommodations start at $4,422. Verandah rooms begin at $4,814 and concierge accommodations at $8,934.
But Bermuda is only one part of Disney's plans.
Disney Wish Will Head North in October
Fall is an ideal time for cruises through Canada and New England, and Disney has multiple northern destinations scheduled.
On October 3, the Disney Wish will begin a five-night voyage featuring Saint John and Boston. It returns October 8.
The following cruise offers something different.
Disney will combine Bermuda and Canada during a six-night sailing from October 8 through October 14. Guests will visit King’s Wharf and Halifax during the trip.
Disney then returns its attention to Bermuda with two consecutive five-night cruises.
Those voyages depart October 14 and October 19, giving travelers two opportunities to take essentially the same itinerary. Both cruises are also scheduled to feature Halloween on the High Seas.
The Longest Cruise Lasts Seven Nights
Anyone wanting a longer round-trip vacation can look toward the end of October.
Disney has scheduled a seven-night Canada cruise beginning October 24. Instead of visiting Bermuda, the Disney Wish will travel north to Charlottetown, Sydney, and Halifax.
The ship returns to New York on October 31.
Prices currently begin at $5,960 for an inside stateroom, making it one of the more expensive cruises of the New York season. Concierge accommodations start at $14,136.
Once Halloween arrives, Disney will prepare to say goodbye to New York.
Disney's Last Cruise Is a One-Way Trip
The Disney Wish's seventh and final departure begins October 31.
Rather than returning to New York, this five-night cruise will finish in San Juan on November 5. King’s Wharf is included along the way, creating one final Bermuda visit before the Wish leaves its temporary New York home behind.
That means Disney's entire New York season will last just over a month.
Still, the relatively short schedule gives Disney fans several noticeably different vacations to consider. There are four-, five-, six-, and seven-night options, along with Bermuda getaways, Canadian cruises, seasonal Halloween voyages, and the final repositioning trip to Puerto Rico.
Disney's expanding fleet may also help explain why destinations such as New York can return to the schedule. With more ships available, Disney has greater freedom to spread its operations beyond the ports it has relied on most heavily.
For Northeast travelers, however, the biggest news is much simpler.
Disney Cruise Line is finally coming back.
After four years without a Disney ship departing from New York, the Disney Wish will arrive in 2027 and give travelers seven new opportunities to begin their Disney cruise vacation from the Big Apple.
