Disney World’s Orange Bird

The Orange Bird is a beloved character associated with Disney – specifically with the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

The character was created in the mid-20th century as a mascot for the Florida Citrus Commission, promoting Florida oranges at the time. The Orange Bird quickly became associated with the Florida Citrus industry and was featured in various promotional materials.

In the early 1970s, Disney and the Florida Citrus Commission entered a marketing partnership, and the Orange Bird was introduced to Disney theme parks. The character became especially popular at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, where it is featured in merchandise and advertisements.

The Orange Bird’s popularity waned over the years, but it experienced a resurgence in the 21st century as Disney fans developed a fondness for retro Disney characters and imagery. Disney has since reintroduced the Orange Bird in various forms, including merchandise, food items, wall art (as completed in this puzzle!), and special events, keeping the character’s legacy alive for new generations of Disney fans.
