Disneyland Resort guests were in for an unexpected surprise when they arrived at the Toy Story Parking Area this weekend. The parking lot, which offers free shuttle transportation to Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and Downtown Disney, was undergoing some significant changes that guests did not see coming.

According to several reports, Disneyland Resort spent the weekend grinding and repaving portions of the Toy Story Parking Area. On Sunday, Redditor u/kadsworld shared a photo showing that about two-thirds of the area was “torn up” and blocked off for guests.
Toy Story Lot construction
“Just a heads up – they’re re-paving the Toy Story lot,” the Disneyland Resort guest wrote. “Last night 2/3 of the main section in front of the loading area was torn up.”
Other guests who had visited in the days leading up to the repaving echoed similar observations.

“Ya, been like this for a few days,” u/CertainManagement552 commented.
Another Redditor, u/Neat-Jacket-6861, offered further details:
“I think this started last Friday. We walked in at 8 am when grinding the first section. By 1 am they were finishing the paving. When we got back to the lot, was impressed!”
Despite the temporary disruption, the Toy Story Parking Area remained open for guests. Disneyland Resort has not shared any official information regarding when the repaving will be complete or future plans for the area.

This surprise maintenance raised some eyebrows, especially as Disney didn’t announce any planned changes ahead of time. The Toy Story Parking Area, known for being a bit farther from the parks compared to the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals Parking Structures, has always been an essential part of the resort’s parking system. It’s likely that Disney Park guests will have to contend with these changes for the next several days, but the overall impact seems minimal so far.
