It may be hard to believe, but this year’s EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is almost right around the corner! This year’s festival runs November 26 to December 30, 2021, following the end of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival on November 20, so Walt Disney World has just released the audition details for new storytellers in World Showcase.
Last year’s EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays was altered and marketed as a “taste of” the festival due to COVID, and by the looks of these Disney job postings this year’s event is shaping up to be closer to its pre-pandemic version of the celebration.
The two Storyteller roles Disney is looking to fill include La Befana from the Italy pavilion and Barn Santa from the Norway pavilion. Both roles require expert storytelling and acting abilities, and woodwind instrument skills would be an added bonus for anyone hoping to audition for Barn Santa. Videos can be submitted for the audition process on the Disney Career website and they must be sent in by September 30 to be considered.
The Storytellers that Guests can find around World Showcase during the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays are a vital part of creating an immersive experience during this seasonal celebration. Each Storyteller represents a holiday figure from the country they are performing in, adding to the ways that Guests can take in the spirit of the season while walking around the world.
Other highlights of this year’s EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays include the much-anticipated return of Candlelight Processional, a longstanding Disney Parks tradition, as well as outdoor kitchens offering seasonal eats, treats, and specialty beverages, the fan-favorite cookie stroll, event-specific merchandise and likely even more fun to be announced as we get closer to November.
Whether you are planning to audition or simply hoping to see these and the other Storytellers at this year’s Festival, we could not be excited to see things moving along for a full International Festival of the Holidays for this winter at EPCOT.
