Bluey’s Wild World has only been open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for a matter of days, but many Disney fans already think they know exactly what could happen next.
The new attraction debuted at Conservation Station on May 26 using a Virtual Queue system through My Disney Experience. Guests needed to secure boarding groups during scheduled drops throughout the day, similar to several recent Disney attraction launches.
Now, Disney is already making a major operational change.

Beginning June 2, Bluey’s Wild World officially moves to a standard standby queue, allowing guests to simply wait in line instead of relying on a Virtual Queue.
That may sound like a simple update on the surface.
But longtime Walt Disney World guests know Disney often follows a very specific pattern with high-demand attractions.
Disney Has Used This Strategy Before
Virtual Queue first. Standby second. Lightning Lane gets integrated at some point in the equation.
Disney has repeatedly used that structure over the last several years when introducing popular new experiences across Walt Disney World.
That is exactly why many fans now believe Bluey could soon become part of Animal Kingdom’s Lightning Lane system.
And honestly, the timing would make sense.
Animal Kingdom currently has fewer Lightning Lane Multi Pass options compared to the other Disney parks. The park is still going through a massive transition period as Disney continues preparing for Tropical Americas, which is expected to open in 2027.
With DINOSAUR now permanently closed and construction impacting portions of the park, Disney needs attractions capable of helping distribute crowds more effectively.
Bluey suddenly becomes very valuable in that environment.
Bluey Could Strengthen Lightning Lane Multi Pass
Right now, Pandora remains the biggest crowd driver at Animal Kingdom.
Avatar Flight of Passage continues pulling massive wait times nearly every day, while Na’vi River Journey also stays consistently busy. Beyond those attractions, however, the park has fewer experiences capable of generating heavy demand from families with young children.
Bluey changes that immediately.
The experience appeals directly to younger families, which gives Animal Kingdom another major draw outside of Pandora. That alone makes it an attractive addition to Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
Adding Bluey would instantly make the service feel stronger at Animal Kingdom while also giving Disney another attraction capable of helping manage standby crowds.
Could Disney Charge Separately for Bluey?
Some guests even believe Disney could eventually make Bluey a premium Lightning Lane experience instead of simply folding it into Multi Pass.
That might sound surprising, but Disney has already shown a willingness to charge extra for highly demanded attractions throughout Walt Disney World.
And Bluey is one of the hottest family entertainment brands in the world right now.
Parents are specifically planning park days around the attraction. Merchandise demand is strong. Younger children are treating Bluey’s Wild World as one of the biggest additions Animal Kingdom has seen in years.
Disney understands that kind of demand extremely well.

If standby waits begin climbing consistently during the busy summer season, the company could easily view Lightning Lane as both a crowd-management tool and a revenue opportunity.
Standby Operations May Change Everything
Ironically, moving away from Virtual Queue may increase overall demand for the attraction.
Virtual Queues create friction for guests. Families have to remember boarding group times, monitor their phones, and organize their morning around digital drops. Casual visitors sometimes avoid experiences entirely because they do not want the hassle.
Standby removes those barriers.
Now guests can simply enter Animal Kingdom, take the Wildlife Express Train near Harambe Market, and join the queue whenever they want.
That flexibility could dramatically increase the number of families attempting to experience Bluey every day.
If lines start growing quickly, Lightning Lane may become Disney’s next operational step.
Disney’s “Pay-for-Convenience” Model Keeps Expanding
Whether guests love it or hate it, Disney continues expanding paid convenience systems throughout Walt Disney World.
What once started with FastPass has evolved into today’s Lightning Lane structure, where guests can purchase Multi Pass and Single Pass access for major attractions.
Bluey feels like a natural fit for that ecosystem.
The attraction is family-focused, highly marketable, and already generating significant attention online. More importantly, it gives Animal Kingdom another valuable attraction during a period where the park is still rebuilding toward its future 2027 expansion plans.
For now, standby remains the only officially announced option beginning June 2.
Still, Disney fans have seen this cycle play out enough times to recognize the signs.
Bluey’s Wild World may have only just opened, but many guests already believe Lightning Lane conversations are probably happening behind the scenes right now.
