Disneyland Paris is buzzing with activity as it gears up to introduce a highly anticipated new attraction based on the beloved animated film, The Lion King.

This immersive ride is expected to transport guests into the iconic world of Simba, Nala, and their friends, allowing them to experience the vibrant savannah and the pulse of the African bush. Although specific details about the storyline have yet to be fully revealed, the charm of the movie promises to infuse the ride with adventure and heart.

Interestingly, the new Lion King ride shares design elements with Disney's well-known Splash Mountain. Like Splash Mountain, this attraction will feature a log flume ride system that includes exhilarating drops and scenic views. Visitors can expect thrilling encounters with animatronic characters and captivating scenes reminiscent of the film.

Beyond its thematic connections to The Lion King, the ride is set to introduce innovative features that enhance the guest experience. With advanced audio-visual technology, riders can expect immersive soundscapes and dynamic visuals that bring the story to life. The ride aims to capture the essence of the film's music and visuals, making it a feast for the senses.

Testing Phase and Logistics

As preparations for the Lion King attraction continue, Disneyland Paris has commenced the testing phase to ensure everything is running smoothly. Recent activities have included trial runs with specialized vehicles that simulate the ride experience.

These tests are crucial for optimizing ride safety, performance, and guest experience. A recent video shared online showcased test vehicles navigating through water drops, adding to the excitement surrounding the attraction.

One of the notable aspects of the Lion King ride is its capacity, designed to accommodate 12 passengers per vehicle. This larger vehicle size not only allows more guests to experience the attraction simultaneously but also enhances the communal feel of the ride, encouraging families and friends to enjoy the adventure together.

Interestingly, testing takes place in a separate backstage area, allowing the team to work away from the public eye.

The Lion King attraction marks a significant milestone for Disneyland Paris, as it will be the first water ride of its caliber in the park’s history. Until now, the resort has lacked a true attraction centered around water that captures the spirit of Disney storytelling in such a vibrant manner.

Additionally, this ride offers a fully realized experience based on The Lion King, a beloved film that has resonated with audiences worldwide. While other Disney parks have incorporated elements of this classic story into their attractions, Disneyland Paris is taking it a step further by creating an entire ride inspired by the movie.

Luke Dammann

When at Disney world, Luke will probably be found eating with his favorite animatronic, Sonny Eclipse at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. When not at Disney World, Luke will probably be found defending Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe to people who claim "there are better restaurants"
