If you are planning on visiting Disneyland Paris, there is one premier access option that you might want to stay away from if you are not experiencing pristine weather conditions kind of day at the parks.

When guests go to Disneyland Paris Park or Walt Disney Studios Park, there is one way that they can skip the line. In Walt Disney World Resort, guests use the Disney Genie+ feature on their My Disney Experience app to purchase Lightning Lane capabilities. While this feature used to be free with a different name (FastPass), it now has a set price to use it for the day. These prices fluctuate depending on park, with Magic Kingdom often costing the most (around $25-$35 per day).

At Disneyland Paris, premier access is available, which is also purchased on the Disneyland Paris app however, these purchases are per attraction. So, if you want to skip the line on Pirates of the Caribbean, you would pay the daily cost, which costs around €5 at the moment. You would pay that cost per person, and then, your whole party could enter the premier access line and skip the regular queue. Guests can also purchase Premier Access Ultimate, which would allow them access to any premier access attraction with a one-time fee.

Popular premier access attractions include Crush’s Coaster, Tower of Terror, Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, Phantom Manor, Big Thunder Mountain, and more. Prices can vary for different attractions, but now, one of the most costly premier access options at Disneyland Paris will be firework and parade viewing spots.

As Disney news site DLP Report noted, “Starting March 28, Disneyland Paris will start offering reserved preferred viewing spots for Disney Dreams and Disney Stars on Parade, priced at €19 (no discounts available).”

While this might alleviate having to hold down the perfect spot for the fireworks or parade, it is certainly a costly option for guests, and one that might not be worth it depending on the weather.

Before Disney Dreams! plays at night, and the Disney Electrical Sky Parade takes place. This is a drone show that has recently opened at Disneyland Paris after Avengers: Power the Night closed at Walt Disney Studios Park. Because the drone technology is so spectacular, for some, it may be worth spending the money to get a good spot for the performance.

One fan, Sami (@Sami_Parks) shared that this new paywall will likely cause a lot of issues when it comes to weather canceling aspects of the drone show. Weather can typically cause the show to cancel just minutes before a performance, which some of our reporters discovered on a recent visit, which can make the hours of waiting, or in this case, the money spent, feel like a waste.

Sami worries that this will likely leave guests demanding refunds whenever the weather causes a cancelation of the drone show.

🎆❌ GOOD LUCK in advance to the City Hall team

When people will pay 19 € to be well placed and they will hear 5 minutes before the start of the show:

“No drone” ❌ “Adapted version”

People will automatically request a refund!

Considering these new premier access spots are some of the most expensive premier access options, it would not seem too out of line for guests to want a refund if the show they purchased “better seats” for had to be heavily modified. If a ride broke down during the day, guests would be able to use their premier access option on another ride, but considering the park shuts down after the fireworks show, this would not be an option for guests.

While there is no refund policy stated specifically for this new premier access option, the Disneyland Paris site notes, “It is not possible to cancel a Disney Premier Access One purchase.” If Disney chooses to leave their rules as is, then the cancelation of the drone show would not be grounds for a refund as a version of a show would still play, as well as Disney Dreams!, but would likely just have guests feeling upset about their costly experience that did not come as advertised.

For guests visiting Disneyland Paris soon and wondering if they need to spend the big bucks for a parade or firework viewing spot, the answer is no. The new A Million Splashes of Colour parade has a large route, making it easy to snag a decent viewing spot, even minutes before it begins. As for Disney Dreams!, that too is not a tough grab, and with so much happening in the sky, even views down Main Street, U.S.A. look great and are worth saving €19 per person, in this Disney fan’s opinion.

What do you think of this new costly addition to the Disneyland Paris experience?
