Disney Shares First Look at New Muppets Coaster and Fans Are Already Obsessed

Disney just dropped a small preview of its upcoming Muppets coaster, and it didn’t take much to get fans interested. It’s not a full breakdown of the ride, but it’s enough to give people a sense that something exciting is on the way.

Instead of revealing everything at once, Disney is taking a slower approach. Each update adds a little more detail, and that strategy is keeping the conversation going.

A Major Ride Gets a New Direction

For years, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith stood out as one of the most intense attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It combined a high-speed launch with a music-driven storyline, making it feel different from anything else in the park.

Guests started inside a recording studio before racing through Los Angeles in a limo to make it to a concert. It was a simple concept, but it worked.

That version officially ended on March 1, 2026, when Disney closed the attraction to begin a full transformation.

A New Headliner for the Park

Disney didn’t wait long to reveal what was next. The ride will return as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, with The Electric Mayhem taking center stage.

This shift brings a completely new tone to the attraction. Instead of focusing on a real-world band, the experience leans into humor and unpredictability.

It also comes at an important time. With Muppet Courtyard being replaced by a Monstropolis-themed land, this update ensures the Muppets still have a strong presence in the park.

First Look Focuses on the Band

The latest update highlights The Electric Mayhem performing “Can You Picture That?” as part of the ride experience.

The song comes from The Muppet Movie (1979) and remains one of the group’s most recognizable tracks. Including it in the attraction connects the ride to the Muppets’ history.

Disney described the performance as part of a “sold-out show,” which likely means guests will see it on a screen after the ride. Since the coaster layout isn’t changing, adding a full performance scene during the ride isn’t an option.

Even so, the visuals already show a lively, colorful performance that matches the band’s personality.

Keeping the Ride Structure Intact

Even with the new theme, the ride itself will follow the same basic format. Guests will still enter G-Force Records and get pulled into a concert storyline.

From there, they’ll board a limo and race across town. That familiar setup allows Disney to update the experience without rebuilding the attraction from scratch.

At the end, guests will likely see The Electric Mayhem performing in a similar way to how Aerosmith appeared in the original version.

Because the structure remains the same, the transformation is happening quickly. Disney has confirmed a summer opening, though the exact date is still unknown.

A Soundtrack That Changes Everything

Music will once again drive the experience, but this time with a very different tone. Disney confirmed that the ride will include a cover of “Song 2” by Blur and a new version of “Born To Be Wild” featuring Camilla the Chicken.

These tracks give the ride a playful edge while still keeping the high-energy feel that made the original so popular.

More details are coming soon. Disney plans to reveal the full soundtrack on April 16, 2026, which should give fans a better idea of what to expect.

A Fresh Summer Coaster

Disney hasn’t shown everything yet, but this first look is enough to get people excited. The Electric Mayhem brings a fresh energy to a familiar ride, and the music helps define that new identity.

With a summer opening on the horizon, the wait won’t be much longer. For now, this preview gives fans a reason to look forward to what’s next.
