It will be no surprise to many Disney fans to hear that Disney has been going through some pretty dramatic shake-ups in recent months (with the ousting of now-former Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek and the reinstatement of formerly-retired Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger being a big standout in Disney history).

CEO Bob Iger has wasted no time in making more big changes now that he is back (including plans for as many as 7,000 job cuts), and both he and Marvel leader Kevin Feige have confirmed that a huge pullback on Marvel content is coming — or as it was alarmingly put, a “franchise recession”.

One show with a lot of hype that is now reportedly being delayed further is the upcoming Agatha Harkness series, which showcased the WandaVision villain played by comedy icon Kathryn Hahn, but many other shows are also on the ‘chopping block’ in terms of being delayed. For some devoted Star Wars or Marvel fans, delays will feel almost as dramatic as cancellations!

This series — when it is finally released — will be a Disney original focusing on the villain Agatha Harkness from Wandavision.

The other Disney+ Originals that are facing some big release date alterations are the following: Ahsoka, Daredevil: Born Again, Echo, Ironheart, Secret Invasion, What If?, X-Men ’97, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, and Agatha: Coven Of Chaos (which was initially being released later this year, but has gone through some substantial alterations of its own).

Disney+ subscribers have also just had some disappointing news about the upcoming Princess Tiana TV show and the Willow reboot, so learning about more TV shows’ delays is certainly discouraging!

These postponements might end up bringing better-quality TV shows to audiences; however, the growing pains will certainly not go unnoticed by any fans of the aforementioned shows or the Marvel or Star Wars franchises.

Disney has already been facing an influx of negative publicity lately — partly due to news regarding the ongoing wage negotiations between Walt Disney World Resorts and its Cast Members — so time will tell when it comes to how audiences react to the addition of even more changes in terms of Disney original shows!
