Disney Spilled the Beans on Its Secret EPCOT Passholder Meet-and-Greet

The secret is out. Disney finally revealed what Annual Passholders will experience at the exclusive meet-and-greet, which has been the most anticipated undisclosed element of the V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days event since it was announced in April.

The reveal happened today as the event officially launched, and the reaction from the Passholder community has been split almost immediately between genuine excitement about the experience and a very specific question about one costume decision that nobody was quite expecting to be making in May 2026.

What Disney Revealed Today

Chip ‘n' Dale are the primary characters for the exclusive Annual Passholder meet and greet at EPCOT, located at the Magic Eye Theatre in World Celebration, the same venue that is home to the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival.

The experience runs daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from May 1 through July 31, giving Passholders a three-month window across the entire summer to take advantage of access that no general admission ticket can purchase. Disney has noted that other characters may make surprise appearances throughout the summer run, keeping the experience from being entirely predictable and giving repeat visitors a reason to check back more than once.

The Costume Question Nobody Saw Coming

Within hours of the reveal going live, the Passholder community had zeroed in on the detail that is generating the most conversation, and it is not the characters themselves. Chip ‘n' Dale are wearing their Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary costumes, the outfits that were introduced in 2021 to celebrate the resort's golden milestone.

That celebration is several years in the past now, and the decision to dress Chip ‘n' Dale in those specific costumes for an exclusive 2026 experience rather than something more current has raised a question that the community is not letting go of quietly.

The comparison being made is the one that makes the costume choice hardest to explain away. Mickey and Minnie previously appeared at this exact same Magic Eye Theatre location wearing their 100th Anniversary costumes, a look tied to Disney's centennial celebration and considerably more recent than the 50th Anniversary outfits Chip ‘n' Dale are sporting.

If the location called for anniversary costumes and Disney went with the 100th Anniversary look for Mickey and Minnie, the natural follow-up question is: why are Chip ‘n' Dale in costumes from a celebration that wrapped up years earlier, rather than receiving a similarly updated wardrobe?

One possible explanation is that the 50th Anniversary costumes complement the visual environment of the Magic Eye Theatre and World Celebration in a way that felt right to the team planning the experience. The gold tones and celebratory aesthetic of those outfits might work with the backdrop better than other options do. But Disney has not offered that or any other explanation publicly, and the community is filling that silence with its own theories.

Everything Else in the Passholder Summer Package

The character meet-and-greet is one element of a broader summer event that officially launched today alongside the reveal. V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days runs May 1 through July 31 and covers a meaningful range of exclusive benefits for Annual Passholders. A collectible magnet featuring Buzz Lightyear and Woody is part of the offering, continuing the magnet tradition that has become a summer staple for frequent visitors.

A dedicated Passholder lounge is available as a midday retreat from the heat and summer crowds, the kind of amenity that makes a real difference on a hot Florida afternoon in July. Dining discounts of 20 to 40 percent at select table-service restaurants are also part of the event, representing genuine savings at a resort where dining costs continue to climb. Additional merchandise and limited-time food and beverage offerings round out the package, with more details expected as the summer progresses.

What Disney Passholders Need to Know

The Chip ‘n' Dale meet and greet is live now at the Magic Eye Theatre in World Celebration at EPCOT. Daily hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through July 31. Access requires a valid Annual Pass. The 50th Anniversary costumes are what Chip ‘n' Dale are wearing, and that conversation is not going away anytime soon. Whether Disney addresses the costume choice at some point during the three-month run or lets it quietly fade as summer moves along is the remaining open question. For now, the experience is available, and the Passholder community has opinions.
