Families driving into EPCOT on Tuesday noticed something at the toll plaza that had been missing for more than three weeks. As is typical with projects that don't significantly impact the guest experience, Walt Disney World Resort hasn't said a word about any of it.
The Sign That Disappeared From EPCOT

Around April 6, the illuminated letters spelling “welcome” at the EPCOT toll plaza entrance vanished without explanation. Walt Disney World Resort made no acknowledgment of the removal and shared no timeline for what would happen next.
For over three weeks, Central Florida Disney Park guests passed through the plaza without the branding that has greeted drivers at the EPCOT entrance since 2023, when the sign was originally installed as part of a broader update to EPCOT's visual identity. The white illuminated letters were designed to match the font used in the second Walt Disney World Resort theme park's logo over the past three years.
Back in Place on April 28

On April 28, WDWNT reported that the letters had returned to the toll plaza, looking identical to how they appeared before the removal. According to Walt Disney World Resort guests on the ground, the surrounding paneling beneath and around the sign also appears to have been cleaned while the letters were away.
All lanes of the toll plaza are open and operating normally, as they have been for the last three weeks. No construction equipment remains in the area, and the maintenance work appears to be complete. Walt Disney World Resort has still not issued any public statement about the project or any future plans for the EPCOT toll plaza.
