Time is running out for Disney Store shoppers in several countries, as the company confirms plans to shut down multiple online storefronts by the end of September.

Disney Store's online presence has become increasingly important to fans as physical retail locations continue to dwindle worldwide. That makes this week's news especially difficult for shoppers in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia, who received an email alerting them that their local online stores are shutting down for good.

Both DisneyStore.com.au and DisneyStore.asia will permanently close at the end of the day on September 30, 2026. Orders placed before that deadline will still be fulfilled, though Disney warns customers to expect possible delays due to the anticipated surge in last-minute orders.

A notice posted on DisneyStore.com.au, which serves Australia and New Zealand shoppers, states:

“Important Update
DisneyStore.com.au will continue to operate in Australia until 30 September 2026, after which your local online store will close. Orders placed through the 30th September will continue to be fufilled.”

Other Disney Store markets remain unaffected by this closure, including Disney Store Japan, Disney Store United States, Disney Store United Kingdom, Disney Store China, Disney Store Korea, Disney Store Philippines, and Disney Store Middle East. Those storefronts will continue to operate as usual beyond the September 30 deadline.

Both closing websites have published FAQ pages addressing common shopper concerns. Key details include:

  • Sold-out items are not expected to be restocked before the September 30 closure.
  • Existing return policies and product support will still be honored after the stores close, and customer support links will remain active.
  • Disney Store Australia and New Zealand will officially close at 11:59 p.m. AEST on September 30, which is 1:59 a.m. NZST on October 1.
  • The Disney Store in Singapore and Malaysia will also shut down after 11:59 p.m. on September 30.

Disney is directing affected shoppers toward “a wide range of authorized and trusted retailers in your country” for future merchandise purchases.

Fans React to the News

Disney Store hasn't posted an official statement about the closures on social media, but fans have already voiced frustration in the comments of @disneystoreau's most recent Instagram post.

“Great, so now we either pay ridiculous shipping charges from overseas or get price gouged by resellers on eBay,” @amandaloriansbounty wrote. “We invest all this money in our collections and get left in the lurch. Not to mention we don't get the love like they do in the US as collectors for invites to events etc.”

“Why are you closing the online store??” @i.luciainthesky asked. “Where are we supposed to buy ears and specially disney products? Definitely feels like Australia doesn't deserve any Disney magic.”

Disney has not explained why it decided to close online operations in these specific markets.
