Disney Vacation Packages- 8 Things To Consider When Choosing What’s Right For You

Disney makes it as easy as possible to create the right vacation package for you and your group. Within the Magic Your Way packages themselves are options to customize your trip to make it a uniquely personal visit. Here are a few things to consider when deciding which package options are best for you.

8. Park Hopper Option

Magic Your Way packages consist at minimum of park tickets and a hotel stay on Disney property. When it comes to the tickets, you can get regular park tickets (Base Tickets) that are limited to one park per day or you can choose to get Park Hopper tickets at an additional cost. These allow you to travel between the parks as many times as you want each day. You’re not limited to just one. However, you should consider whether or not you really need the Park Hopper option. If you plan on doing one park per day anyway, you can save your money and skip this.

7. Water Park Tickets

In addition, there is a Water Park Fun and More Option with your ticket selection. This gives you access to the two water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, along with entrance into DisneyQuest in Downtown Disney. If you plan on visiting the water parks during your stay, this ticket option is for you. It allows access during each day of your trip so you can visit as often as you’d like.

6. Golfing

Also included in the Water Park Fun and More Option is a chance to play regular golf or mini golf right on Disney property. This option is good for Disney’s Oak Trail golf course, Disney’s Fantasia Gardens mini golf course or Disney’s Winter Summerland mini golf course. Here you are restricted to one round of golf and don’t have unlimited access like with the water parks. According to the Disney World website, guests will have to choose one option between the water parks, DisneyQuest, the golf courses, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex per visit. If you have questions about this, please ask a Cast Member or your local travel agent.

5. Check Special Offers

Some people skip this step, but to really take advantage of what Disney has to offer, you’ll want to view the Special Offers page on the Disney World website. Here you can find special packages for Florida residents, members of the U.S. military, and annual passholders. If you’re ordering your vacation package on your own, be sure to book your trip through these links in order to allow the special offers to take effect and see if you qualify for any of these perks.

4. Check Discounts and Freebies

On the Special Offers page you can also find information on discounts offered throughout the year. This can include savings off hotel rooms, free dining plans, or seasonal discounts. If you’re on a tight budget, consider choosing one of these Disney Vacation Package options to get the most for your money. However, these discounts are only available during select dates and are limited. You’ll want to book these quickly to get the dates and hotel you prefer.

3. Dining Plan

We’ve just gone over how you can get the Disney Dining Plan for free, however, you do have the option of adding it to your Magic Your Way package year round. There are three options: Magic Your Way Package Plus Quick Service Dining, Plus Dining (standard), and Plus Deluxe Dining. They range from the most affordable to the most expensive and allow guests to trade snack and meal credits for food items at the parks. This is a great way to set up a food budget ahead of time and have everything prepaid. If you choose to do without, you can opt out of this option.

2. Non Park Days

When creating you Disney vacation package, you should also decide if you really need a ticket for each day of your stay. With so much to do on Disney property, you can spend an entire day outside the parks by being at the resorts or Downtown Disney. You can choose the number of tickets you’ll need and can save money by not ordering more than you need.

1. Annual Passes

If you’re a frequent Disney guest, something to consider is purchasing an annual pass. These passes give you Park Hopper tickets for a full year and offer discounts on hotel stays as well. Usually if you plan on being at the parks for 12 days or longer, the pass is worth the cost. Your annual pass can then be linked to your vacation package additions like your hotel and dining options.

Overall, it’s completely up to you what kind of Disney vacation package you’d like to use. Consider what you’re party’s goals are for the trip and make the right choices for your group. You’ll be sure to have a great time.
