Disney Announces Villains Takeover at Locations Around the World

Disney is embracing its darker side as its most iconic Villains take over experiences worldwide!

Disney Cruise Line is kicking off the excitement with the Disney Destiny, a new ship sailing its maiden voyage in November 2025. The ship, which will feature a Heroes and Villains theme, will introduce guests to a world where they can align with their favorite characters from both sides of the moral spectrum, joining either Team Heroes or Team Villains. The ship will feature a Black Panther Grand Hall statue and a Spider-Man character at the stern.

On June 25, Disney Cruise Line revealed more details about De Vil’s, a piano lounge aboard the Disney Destiny, inspired by one of the most notorious Disney Villains, Cruella de Vil. This 101 Dalmatians (1961)-themed lounge will be located just off the ship’s Grand Hall, with a piano-key-inspired marquee welcoming guests. Disney also shared a photo of a black-and-white tile mosaic reading “How Marvelous,” Cruella de Vil’s famous catchphrase. Located near the lounge entrance, the mosaic will feature 15 white pawprints, a nod to Pongo and Perdita’s 15 original puppies.

Inside the lounge, guests will find a space that reflects Cruella’s opulent and luxurious style. Black-and-white spots, bold pops of deep red, and couture-inspired furnishings will transport visitors into the world of Disney’s infamous villain. The carpet will be designed with an ink-splattered, hand-drawn look to pay tribute to the animator Ken Anderson, who oversaw the character designs for 101 Dalmatians.

Of course, no piano bar is complete without a piano, and De Vil’s will feature a piano decorated in Cruella’s signature black-and-white spots. Disney Cruise Line even shared a downloadable wallpaper of the pattern for fans to enjoy.

The lounge will serve “trendy martinis, chic cocktails, and glamorous wines and bubbles,” including the Fashionista and the Fearless Sir Galahad cocktails.

Passengers on Disney Destiny will also be treated to two interactive entertainment offerings with Cruella herself. One of these experiences will feature a runway-style show where the fashion-obsessed villain critiques guests’ fashion knowledge. Cruella will also appear sporadically when her theme song, “Cruella de Vil,” plays, encouraging guests to create their own flattering tributes to her.

In addition to the Disney Destiny’s Villains-themed experiences, Disney is expanding the Villains’ presence across the world. Walt Disney World Resort recently announced plans to create a Disney Villains-themed land “beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad” at Magic Kingdom Park. The project is already underway, with construction set to transform the unused area into a dark and mysterious world.

But Walt Disney World Resort guests don’t have to wait to interact with Disney’s most nefarious characters. The “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” show recently debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, offering even more opportunities for fans to engage with their favorite villains.

The Disney Destiny’s Villains-themed experiences, the new Magic Kingdom expansion, and the Villains show at Hollywood Studios mark the beginning of an exciting era for Disney fans who love the darker side of the magic. Tickets for Disney Destiny’s inaugural voyages are available now, so don’t miss out on being one of the first to experience the Villains in a whole new way.
