The Halloween Party Ripple Effect
The primary reason for this drastic schedule shift is the arrival of Walt Disney World's busy Halloween season. Magic Kingdom closes early to daytime guests on several nights a week from August through October to host the separately ticketed Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Because Disney is actively pushing non-party guests out of the gates on these evenings, hosting a two-hour Extended Evening block for Deluxe Resort guests becomes a logistical impossibility.
When Magic Kingdom is unavailable on its typical Wednesday nights, Disney shifts the perk to other theme parks across the property. While Disney’s Hollywood Studios will absorb the Wednesday slots in late September and early October, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is stepping in for the remaining impacted schedule. A Massive Drop in Value: 15 Rides Down to 4

When Magic Kingdom is the host, guests can easily experience over a dozen rides within the two-hour window, hopping rapidly from Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan's Flight over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain. Who Qualifies for Extended Evening Hours?
Despite the temporary limitation of the attraction lineup, this perk remains highly exclusive. It is only available to registered guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts (such as Disney's Contemporary Resort or Disney's Polynesian Village Resort), Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts (Disney Vacation Club properties), and select partner hotels like the Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green. Guests at Value Resorts (such as Pop Century) or Moderate Resorts (such as Caribbean Beach) are strictly excluded from participating in the nighttime benefit.
