Disney World Confirms Popular Holiday Experience Will Look Different in 2026

Christmas at Walt Disney World doesn't always have to involve expensive tickets, crowded attractions, or a full day inside the theme parks.

Sometimes, the simplest holiday experiences can be just as enjoyable, especially for families looking for something festive to do without spending more money.

Disney has now confirmed the return of a popular seasonal activity, and the 2026 version will feature several additions that weren't part of last year's celebration.

The experience begins November 11, giving guests another way to enjoy the holidays before Thanksgiving even arrives.

Disney World Adds Three New Holiday Displays for 2026

The Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll is officially returning November 11, 2026, with festivities scheduled to continue through January 3, 2027.

The annual tradition transforms Disney Springs into a holiday scavenger hunt, encouraging visitors to search for decorated Christmas trees inspired by Disney characters, movies, and entertainment franchises.

This year's biggest changes involve three new additions.

For the first time, guests will encounter a Bluey-themed Christmas tree, bringing the popular children's television character into the holiday celebration.

Disney is also introducing a tree inspired by Monsters, Inc. (2001), adding another Pixar favorite to the event.

Meanwhile, a new Hallmark Christmas Tree will join the seasonal displays.

These additions complement 11 other character and franchise-themed trees, including familiar favorites inspired by Frozen (2013), Toy Story (1995), Moana (2016), and Star Wars.

Guests can also look forward to displays celebrating Disney Villains, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Encanto (2021), Fantasia (1940), Lilo & Stitch (2002), The Lion King (1994), The Princess and the Frog (2009), and The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).

Beyond the character-themed decorations, Disney Springs will feature several additional holiday installations.

These include an Annual Passholder Christmas Tree, Disney Cruise Line Topiary, and three larger Christmas trees positioned throughout the shopping district.

Disney's Holiday Scavenger Hunt Remains Completely Free

Perhaps the best part of the Christmas Tree Stroll is that Disney isn't charging guests to participate.

Visitors can collect a complimentary map from Disney Springs brochure racks or participating businesses, including The LEGO Store, The Polite Pig, and the Hallmark Holiday Pop-Up Shop.

From there, guests explore the district, locate decorated Christmas trees, and match stickers to the appropriate spaces on their maps.

Once they've completed the activity, they can return their maps to a designated location and receive a surprise.

No advance reservation or theme park admission is required.

That makes the experience particularly appealing to families visiting Disney Springs for dinner, shopping, or an evening away from the parks.

It also offers an alternative to Walt Disney World's separately ticketed holiday celebrations, which can add considerable expenses to an already costly vacation.

Although dining and shopping still cost extra, families can enjoy the Christmas Tree Stroll without paying an additional admission fee.

With the festivities continuing through January 3, visitors will have plenty of opportunities to explore the decorations and discover Disney's newest holiday additions.

For guests hoping to enjoy a little Disney Christmas magic without another expensive ticket, the returning tradition could be worth adding to their holiday plans.
