Disney has confirmed the impending closure of a Magic Kingdom staple.
When Magic Kingdom opened in 1971, guests encountered a park rooted firmly in classic Disney storytelling. Opening-day offerings included Main Street, U.S.A.; Adventureland; Frontierland; Fantasyland; and Tomorrowland, with attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan’s Flight, and the original Skyway (RIP) defining the experience.

One of its staple dining destinations was Diamond Horseshoe, a Wild West–themed dinner show, inspired by Disneyland’s Golden Horseshoe Revue (which ended in 1986). It combined live stage performances with family-style meals, leaning into Frontierland’s theatrical, turn-of-the-century Americana.
Over time, the venue shifted away from full-scale shows, operating intermittently as a table-service restaurant and event space. Despite long closures and changing formats, Diamond Horseshoe remained a nostalgic reminder of Magic Kingdom’s early emphasis on live entertainment.

Most recently, it has served as an all-you-care-to-enjoy eatery, offering the likes roasted turkey, pot roast, smoked pork loin, and ooey gooey toffee cake for $45 per adult and $24 per child.
But in May, the restaurant will be closing as Disney prepares to introduce a new experience.
Disney Reveals Closure Details For Diamond Horseshoe
Disney has confirmed that the Diamond Horseshoe will be closed to all guests from May 16, 2026.
Table-service dining will be stripped from the restaurant, which will instead be transformed into a space for kids to burn energy alongside Toy Story characters.

“‘Toy Story' bursts into the Diamond Horseshoe with high-energy fun at Jessie’s Roundup, led by everyone’s favorite yodelin’ cowgirl,” says Disney. “Get ready to craft, dance and yodel your day away alongside Jessie, Woody and friends in this high-spirited Western revue!”
The good news is that Diamond Horseshoe’s transformation is temporary. Jessie’s Roundup will run from May 26 through September 8, 2026, with normal operations expected to resume shortly after. Even so, removing a dining location can strain Magic Kingdom, where food options are already limited.
An opening-day venue, Diamond Horseshoe last hosted a full show more than 20 years ago, when Goofy’s Country Dancin’ Jamboree ran from 2003 to 2005. Since reopening post-COVID, it has served the same menu as Liberty Tree Tavern, sharing a kitchen and offering little differentiation.
That stagnation shows in guest feedback.

Diamond Horseshoe holds an average 3.3-star rating on Tripadvisor, where it’s been called “terrible” and compared to a school canteen. While affordable and easy to book, many guests may be better off opting for quick-service favorites like Adventureland’s spring rolls.
In other words, you may be better off sticking to the cheeseburger or pizza spring rolls in Adventureland.
