The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Central Florida, is the destination for Disney fans. With a sprawling 25,000-acre site, Disney World’s four theme parks (Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom) entertain millions of guests each year.

However, while crowds look to be high across Thanksgiving and Christmas, Disney World has noted lower-than-usual attendance. This could, of course, be down to the rising cost of admission, hotel accommodation, or the need to purchase add-ons–like the new Lightning Lane Multi, Single, and Premier Passes–to fully enjoy a vacation to the resort.

The House of Mouse’s earnings calls this year have acknowledged the attendance dips, explaining that the trend may continue. Despite this, many are frustrated with Disney’s apparent lack of awareness of just how expensive it is to visit Disney World; instead, the company is seemingly focused on using IP to drive up visitation.

Another recent price hike that sparked online discourse was the rise in costs for Annual Passes. In late October, Disney drove up its Annual Pass prices between $30 and $100, with the Incredi-Pass, Disney World’s most expensive option, now costing $1,549 (previously $1,449).

Of course, one of the main selling points for Disney Annual Passholders is the stream of perks that come with them. From in-park discounts to exclusive merchandise, Disney World’s biggest fans often make notable savings while visiting the theme parks.

According to reports, Disney is mailing out a different kind of gift for Disney World Passholders this holiday season: a baking set featuring four Disney theme park recipes.

In the mail, AP holders will receive a package wrapped in Disney-themed gift paper containing the recipes for Jack Jack’s Num Num Cookies, usually found in Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Contemporary Resort’s Chef Mickey’s Sugar Cookies, the Tres Leches cake from EPCOT, and even the famed and viral beignets from Port Orleans Resort–French Quarter.

It is exciting that Disney is sending these recipes out in time for the holiday season, and all Annual Passholders should watch out for the mail arriving in the coming days and weeks.

There are currently four Annual Pass options Disney World offers. The Disney Pixie Dust Pass and Disney Pirate Pass are available for Florida residents only, while the Disney Sorcerer Pass is available for Florida residents and Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members. The Disney Incredi-Pass is available for anyone.

About Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.

  1. Once again Disney is making a big deal about giving away very little, many of these special treat recipes can be found on line and the beignet mix is easily purchased. If Disney wants to keep the magic going and the tourist happy then maybe (free wristband for hotel guests, special free fast passes for the lightning lanes, non expiration tickets and a host of many more perks that the corporation has taken away in order to make some extra bucks) . do the extra to make the guests feel like they are getting their hard earned moneys worth.

  2. People are never happy, instead of commenting with just Thank you, they complain, send it back, I’m thrilled
