Disney World Guests Are Finding Pluto and Goofy in an Unexpected New Spot

Ask longtime Disney fans about their favorite vacation memories, and many won't immediately mention a ride.

Instead, they'll talk about meeting Mickey Mouse for the first time, getting a funny reaction from Goofy, or watching a child's face light up when Pluto walked around the corner.

Character interactions remain a major part of the Walt Disney World experience, and Disney continues finding new ways to incorporate them throughout its parks.

At Disney's Animal Kingdom, guests have recently noticed a change involving two classic Disney favorites.

Pluto and Goofy are now greeting guests together from a new location in the park's Asia section. The characters can typically be found along a pathway near Drinkwallah and Royal Anandapur Tea Company, creating a new destination for visitors hoping to meet both characters during their day.

The relocation comes during a period of significant change for Animal Kingdom.

For years, DinoLand U.S.A. served as home to several character appearances. As Disney moves forward with plans to transform that area into Tropical Americas, entertainment offerings have been redistributed across the park.

That process has resulted in several character location changes over the past year.

Rather than keeping Pluto and Goofy separated in different areas, Disney has now brought them together in a single location. The change may help improve the guest experience by reducing the amount of time visitors spend searching for characters.

Animal Kingdom's size can sometimes make character hunting a challenge. Unlike Magic Kingdom, where many meet-and-greets are concentrated in specific areas, Animal Kingdom spreads experiences across several themed lands.

By positioning Pluto and Goofy together, Disney creates a more efficient stop for families.

The location itself is also a strong fit for the park. The Asia section offers detailed theming, beautiful landscaping, and plenty of atmosphere. Those elements often make character photos feel more special than standard greeting locations.

Guests strolling toward Expedition Everest may now find themselves stopping for a photo opportunity they hadn't originally planned.

That's part of what makes character interactions so popular. They're often spontaneous. A carefully planned attraction schedule can suddenly pause when a favorite Disney character appears nearby.

As Animal Kingdom prepares for even bigger changes in the coming years, smaller updates like this one help keep the park feeling fresh.

While major attractions and new lands will continue generating headlines, Disney understands that characters remain an essential part of the guest experience.

For many visitors, meeting Pluto and Goofy isn't simply another item on a checklist. It's one of those classic Disney moments that helps transform an ordinary park day into something memorable.

And thanks to their new shared location, those moments may now be easier to find.
