Disney World Increases Guest Access at Magic Kingdom With New Hotel Perk

If you’ve been paying attention to Walt Disney World lately, you might have noticed something shifting—especially in the early hours of the day.

Disney has quietly improved a perk hotel guests already rely on, and it’s starting to change how people plan their mornings at Magic Kingdom. It’s not a headline-grabbing update, but it makes a real difference once you experience it.

And for guests who like getting a jump on the crowds, this is exactly the kind of change that matters.

The Perks That Come With Staying Onsite

There’s a reason so many guests choose to stay at Disney Resort hotels, and it goes beyond just location.

From transportation to dining, everything is designed to feel seamless. You can move between parks and resorts without worrying about driving, and your hotel stay feels like an extension of the parks themselves.

There are also key planning advantages. Resort guests can book Lightning Lane selections earlier, which helps lock in popular rides. Dining reservations open sooner, too, making it easier to secure those hard-to-get spots.

Deluxe resort guests get even more, including extended evening hours on select nights.

Still, one perk consistently stands out: early theme park entry.

Offers Continue to Evolve

Early entry gives Disney Resort guests access to Magic Kingdom 30 minutes before official opening.

That half hour might not sound like much, but it can completely change how your day starts. Guests can head into Fantasyland and Tomorrowland before the main crowd arrives, getting a head start on some of the busiest attractions in the park.

For a long time, the list of available rides during early entry stayed predictable. Guests knew what to expect and planned accordingly.

But now, that list has grown.

A Classic Returns

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been in a soft reopening phase, giving guests a preview of the updated attraction while it works toward full availability.

Because of that, it hasn’t always been reliable early in the day. Some guests could ride it, while others missed out depending on timing.

That changes on April 8, 2026.

With the attraction returning to full operation, it is once again part of the early entry lineup, adding another popular option for resort guests.

A Stronger Early Entry Lineup

With that addition, early entry at Magic Kingdom now includes 15 attractions.

Here’s what’s typically available:

  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Space Mountain
  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
  • Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid
  • Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
  • Tomorrowland Speedway
  • Astro Orbiter
  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant
  • Mad Tea Party
  • Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
  • “it’s a small world”
  • The Barnstormer
  • Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress

That mix of rides gives guests more flexibility than ever. You can focus on a major attraction right away or take advantage of shorter waits across multiple rides.

Either way, the extra option makes a noticeable difference.

A Small Update That Changes Strategy

This kind of update might seem minor at first, but it has a ripple effect across the park.

More attractions available early means guests spread out more evenly, which can help reduce early congestion in certain areas. It also gives visitors more ways to customize their morning instead of following the same routine.

For returning guests, it adds a new layer to planning. For first-time visitors, it makes early entry even more worthwhile.

A Benefit Unlike Any Other

Disney didn’t reinvent early entry—but it didn’t need to.

By bringing Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin fully back and folding it into the lineup, the company has strengthened one of its most useful hotel perks.

It’s a quiet improvement, but one that makes those first 30 minutes inside Magic Kingdom count even more.
