Disney World Making More Changes in 2025

Disney World is preparing for an exciting year in 2025, as new construction permits hint at both updates to fan-favorite attractions and potential surprises. These permits provide a glimpse into Disney’s future plans, showcasing a blend of nostalgia and innovation to keep guests coming back for more.

One highlight from Magic Kingdom is the Haunted Mansion, which might be receiving some attention soon. Disney’s Buena Vista Construction Company has filed a permit for this iconic ride. While specific details remain under wraps, speculation is already swirling among fans.

Some are hoping for enhancements similar to Disneyland’s updated Bride scene, which added a fresh twist to an already beloved attraction. Whether it’s simple maintenance or something more transformative, excitement is building around the possibilities.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which replaced Splash Mountain, is another focus of Disney’s efforts. The attraction has faced operational issues, with frequent closures frustrating guests. A newly filed permit suggests Disney is addressing these challenges, potentially aiming to improve reliability and enhance the guest experience. If successful, these updates could help the ride solidify its place as a standout addition to Magic Kingdom.

Over at Hollywood Studios, big changes are also in the works. A Villains-themed show is rumored to be taking over the space previously occupied by the Cars Meet-and-Greet area near Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy. This would bring a darker, thrilling element to the park, something fans have been requesting for years.

Additionally, the long-dormant Voyage of the Little Mermaid theater is being reimagined for a new live-action musical set to debut in summer 2025. This updated production promises to breathe new life into Animation Courtyard and appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers.

EPCOT, known for its innovative attractions, is also undergoing exciting changes. Spaceship Earth’s exit area is set to feature a new lounge, providing a sleek and relaxing space for guests to unwind. Meanwhile, Test Track is undergoing a major overhaul inspired by the original World of Motion. Scheduled to reopen in late summer 2025, this reimagined ride will combine nostalgic elements with modern design, offering a fresh take on a classic experience.

From refreshing iconic attractions to introducing bold new concepts, Disney World is making sure there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The mix of tradition and innovation ensures that the parks remain a top destination for families, thrill-seekers, and Disney enthusiasts alike.

As these plans unfold, it’s clear that 2025 will be a milestone year for Disney World. Whether it’s revisiting revamped classics or exploring entirely new experiences, guests can look forward to a magical future filled with surprises.
