Walt Disney World Resort has abruptly removed a tribute to one of its most famous princesses. The Cinderella statue, which has stood proudly outside the World of Disney at Disney Springs, was removed overnight, and there is no public word on when or if it will return.

The life-size statue has been a fixture at Disney Springs for years, providing the perfect spot for photos and memories. Over the years, countless families have stopped by to capture moments with their favorite Disney Princess, making the statue a beloved part of families’ vacation traditions.

Sadly, as of July 15, 2025, the spot where Cinderella once stood is empty. In her place is a temporary box painted to match the building’s columns, a far cry from the charming presence of the Disney Princess.
Cinderella was last removed in October 2024 for a refurbishment. After enduring the Central Florida elements for years, the statue was given a fresh coat of paint and returned in December 2024. But this time, no refurbishment has been announced, leaving many to wonder if her departure is permanent or just another temporary absence.

A tweet shared by X (formerly known as Twitter) user @Attractions on Tuesday showed the now-empty space where Cinderella’s statue once stood. The image revealed a temporary structure, clearly out of place in what had previously been a welcoming photo op.

Walt Disney World Resort has not issued an official statement regarding Cinderella’s removal, leaving fans with more questions than answers. Unlike Cinderella, Princess Aurora’s statue nearby remains untouched, despite having undergone refurbishment alongside Cinderella in 2024. Whether this will change in the future is still unclear.
