The holiday countdown has officially started at Walt Disney World, and with it comes a massive surge in guest attendance. As resort hotels reach capacity and festive event tickets sell out across Central Florida, Disney operational planners are stepping in once again to overhaul the theme park calendars.

In a major schedule update, Disney has extended operating hours across multiple weeks in November 2026.
The revisions deliver earlier-morning rope drops and late-night touring windows for Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you have an upcoming trip planned for early to mid-November, your daily park strategy and Lightning Lane plans just received a critical upgrade.
Why Disney Extends November Operating Calendars
Theme park veterans know that Disney’s preliminary hours are rarely the final word. Operational planners constantly monitor hotel reservations, advance dining bookings, and ticket sales before expanding the schedule.

November brings a unique combination of crowds and operational bottlenecks:
- The Party Squeeze: On select evenings, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes over Magic Kingdom, forcing regular day guests out of the park at 6:00 p.m.
- Hollywood Studios After-Hours: Disney Jollywood Nights kicks off on select dates, wrapping standard daytime operations early at 7:00 p.m.
- Mid-November Demand: Between northeastern school breaks (“Jersey Week”), Veterans Day weekend, and early Thanksgiving vacationers, the resort needs broader operating windows to accommodate high guest volume.
Week Two Shakeup: November 8–14, 2026
The second full week of November features dramatic schedule expansions to absorb the influx of holiday and long-weekend travelers.

Magic Kingdom
- Sunday, November 8; Monday, November 9; and Friday, November 13: On these three party dates, the park opens an hour earlier at 8:00 a.m. (previously 9:00 a.m.) and operates until 6:00 p.m. Early theme park Entry for on-property resort guests shifts forward to 7:30 a.m.
- Tuesday, November 10 and Wednesday, November 11 (Veterans Day): Non-party days gain extra evening touring, with closing pushed back one hour to 11:00 p.m. (operating 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., previously closing at 10:00 p.m.).
- Saturday, November 14: The park receives its biggest boost of the week, staying open for a full 15 hours from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (previously 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.). Early Entry begins at 7:30 a.m.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Sunday, November 8; Monday, November 9; and Friday, November 13: Evening hours expand by one hour, running from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (previously closing at 6:00 p.m.). Early Entry begins at 7:30 a.m.
- Saturday, November 14: The park gains two additional hours at night, operating from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (up from a 6:00 p.m. close).
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Saturday, November 14: The park opens 30 minutes earlier, operating from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (previously 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) ahead of an evening Jollywood Nights event. Early Entry begins at 8:00 a.m.
Mid-November Extensions: November 15–21, 2026
Disney has also expanded the third week of November to prepare for Thanksgiving week arrivals:

- Magic Kingdom (Sunday, November 15): Opens one hour earlier at 8:00 a.m. and runs until 6:00 p.m. (previously 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). Early Entry starts at 7:30 a.m.
- Magic Kingdom (Monday, November 16 & Saturday, November 21): Closing time extends one hour later to 11:00 p.m. (operating 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., previously scheduled to close at 10:00 p.m.).
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Sunday, November 15): Stays open two hours later, running from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (previously 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Saturday, November 21): Closes one hour later, operating from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (previously 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). Early Entry begins at 7:30 a.m.
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Saturday, November 21): Opens 30 minutes earlier, operating from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (previously 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.). Early Entry begins at 8:00 a.m.
- EPCOT: Operating hours remain unchanged at 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. throughout the week.
How to Maximize the Schedule Extensions

- Leverage the 7:30 a.m. Early Entry Window: The first hour of park operations delivers the lowest wait times of the entire day. Arriving before 7:30 a.m. at Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom allows on-property resort guests to knock out tier-one attractions—like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, or Avatar Flight of Passage—before off-property day guests enter at 8:00 a.m.
- Hop Away from Party Nights: Magic Kingdom crowd patterns change dramatically on Christmas Party dates. Daytime standby queues are significantly shorter on days when the park closes at 6:00 p.m. If you hold a Park Hopper ticket, spend your morning knocking out rides in Magic Kingdom, then hop over to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios for evening entertainment.
- Take an Afternoon Break: A 15-hour day at Magic Kingdom (8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.) can quickly exhaust a family. Returning to your resort hotel between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. gives your party a chance to rest before heading back into the park for nighttime rides and fireworks.
