Disney World Perk Makes a Comeback: FREE Service Expands to More Resorts

Remember Magical Express? The good old days when you’d land at Orlando International Airport, hop on a bus, and your bags would just magically show up at your Disney resort? Yeah, we miss it too. When it ended in early 2022, a lot of Disney fans were not happy.

But here’s some good news. Disney seems to be listening, little by little. The free Airport Luggage Transfer at Disney service just expanded to three more resorts, and now every single Value and Moderate Resort at Walt Disney World is part of it.

Who Just Got Added?

The three newest resorts are all Moderates:

Caribbean Beach was already on the list, so now all four Moderate Resorts are in. That makes nine resorts total.

The five Value Resorts that were already included are All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, All-Star Sports, Art of Animation, and Pop Century.

How Did We Get Here?

This whole thing started as a pilot program in April 2025, and at first it was pretty limited. You had to be staying at one of the five Value Resorts, and you had to be flying Southwest.

Since then, it’s grown a lot. More airlines got added, more resorts joined, and Disney started offering luggage delivery for arriving guests too. Now it works with American Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest, and United, all for domestic flights.

The service is run by a company called BagCheck.

Here’s How It Works When You Land

First, you need to register between 30 days and 24 hours before your flight. Have your Disney Resort confirmation number and your flight confirmation number handy.

If you sign up more than seven days ahead, BagCheck will actually mail you luggage tags. If you sign up later, no tags, but you can still use the service and track your bags through your confirmation email.

On travel day, check in for your flight online and pay any baggage fees to your airline like normal. Then check your bags at your home airport. When you land in Orlando, here’s the best part: you skip baggage claim completely. Just head to Disney World.

Your bags can take up to four hours to show up at your resort. Once they’re there, grab them from Luggage Assistance or Bell Services in the lobby, or call from your room phone to have them delivered. Just know tips aren’t included.

And When You Leave

This works on the way home too. Check in online starting 24 hours before your flight and pay your bag fees. Then drop your luggage off at Luggage Assistance or Bell Services between 24 hours and four hours before your flight. You can even ask them to come grab your bags from your room.

Bring your photo ID and boarding pass when you drop off your bags. Then head to the airport and skip the bag check line. Your luggage will be waiting at baggage claim when you land at home. Honestly, that’s the dream.

A Few Things to Know

It’s domestic flights only, so international travelers are out of luck for now. If you want your stroller or car seat with you, check them at the gate instead. Keep your meds, electronics, important documents, and anything perishable in your carry-on.

If your flight lands after 11 PM, you can either grab your bags yourself at MCO or wait up to four hours for delivery. And since it’s still technically a pilot program, Disney could change or end it without notice.

Also, quick reminder: the transfer service is free, but you still pay your airline’s bag fees.

It’s Not Magical Express, But We’ll Take It

You still need to figure out your own ride from the airport, so it’s not a full Magical Express comeback. But not having to wait at baggage claim with tired kids after a flight? That’s a huge win.

Going from five Value Resorts to every Value and Moderate Resort in about a year and a half is a pretty clear sign that Disney is hearing what guests want. Now we’re just waiting to see if Deluxe Resorts get added next.

Fingers crossed. And see you not at baggage claim.
