Okay, Toy Story fans, quick update from Hollywood Studios at Disney World. Remember those special Toy Story 5 looks Woody, Jessie, and Buzz had going on this summer? Yeah, those are done.
The gang is officially back in their classic costumes in Toy Story Land. No more poncho, no more badge, no more star sticker. Just the Woody, Jessie, and Buzz we all know and love.
Wait, What Were the Toy Story 5 Looks?
If you missed it, Disney gave the trio a little Toy Story 5 makeover back in July. It wasn’t a huge change, just one new detail each. Woody got a red bandanna poncho, Jessie got a sheriff badge on her vest, and Buzz got a star sticker on his chest.
It was a cute way to hype up the movie, but it was always meant to be temporary. And now Hollywood Studios has officially retired those looks.
Woody Is Looking Like Woody Again
With the poncho gone, you can finally see Woody’s full outfit again. That means his yellow plaid shirt and cow-print vest are back front and center. His red bandana is around his neck, and his sheriff badge, belt buckle, and holster are all right where they should be.
He was spotted tipping his hat to guests as he walked around Toy Story Land, looking just as happy as always. Honestly, it’s nice to see the classic cowboy back.
Jessie Lost the Badge
Jessie’s sheriff badge is gone from her vest, which means her yellow collar and cuffs are the pops of color again. She’s still rocking her red hat with white stitching and those iconic cow-print chaps.
She was seen waving at guests as she and Woody walked the path together, because of course they’re still a team.
Buzz Is Sticker-Free
Buzz’s star sticker is gone too. His chest panel is back to its normal setup with the Space Ranger logo and yellow Lightyear label. He’s still got the white, green, and purple suit and that row of blue, green, and red buttons we’ve all wanted to press at some point.
He was waving at guests as he headed to his meet-and-greet spot. To infinity and back to normal.
Where to Find Them
Good news if you already know your way around Toy Story Land, because nothing changed here. Woody and Jessie still meet together near Toy Story Mania, and Buzz meets on his own closer to the entrance of Toy Story Land.
So if you want all three, you’ll need to make two stops. Check the My Disney Experience app for times so you’re not running back and forth.
Holiday Costumes Could Be Next
Here’s where it gets fun. Now that the Toy Story 5 looks are gone, there’s a good chance holiday costumes are coming.
Woody, Jessie, and Buzz wore festive outfits during the 2023 holiday season, and those costumes first appeared in 2018, the year Toy Story Land got holiday decorations.
They weren’t the only ones getting festive either. That year, Max Goof and Donald Duck met guests at Echo Lake with a little holiday flair, and Chip ’n’ Dale and Daisy showed up near the Chinese Theater in their holiday outfits.
Nobody knows yet exactly which characters will switch to holiday looks this year or when it’ll happen, but it’s expected that festive costumes will make a return.
So, Should You Go Now?
If you want photos with Woody, Jessie, and Buzz in their classic costumes, we’d say go sooner rather than later. Once the holiday looks show up, these classic outfits might be gone for a while.
And honestly, there’s just something about the original costumes that hits different. These are the looks we grew up with. Go grab that photo while you can.
