A fresh coat of paint is bringing a moodier, more theatrical look to one corner of Disney's BoardWalk Inn, as Walt Disney World Resort continues transforming the former Jellyrolls piano bar into its next entertainment venue.
Construction Continues at Disney's BoardWalk Inn
The repainting work is just the latest phase of ongoing construction at the EPCOT Resort Area hotel. Disney Fanatic previously reported that new turf had gone in at the Village Green area of Disney's BoardWalk Inn, which closed to guests on August 10 and won't reopen until September 4. But that project is running alongside another transformation taking shape on one building's facade.
From Jellyrolls to The Hurly Burly Jazz Club
Crews are now repainting the exterior of the space once occupied by Jellyrolls, the dueling piano bar that shut its doors in early 2025. Walt Disney World Resort has confirmed the location is being reimagined as The Hurly Burly Jazz Club, a venue designed to function as a family-friendly seaside theater by day and an adults-only live music lounge by night. The new concept will also serve themed cocktails and light bites once it opens.
A Darker Wave Design Takes Shape
WDWNT reported on August 23 that construction crews were repainting the venue's signature wave design in a noticeably darker shade of blue. Progress varies depending on which side of the building guests view: the lakeside facade is largely finished with the new, darker paint, while the side facing the BoardWalk itself still shows the older, lighter blue color scheme.
Walt Disney World Resort has said The Hurly Burly Jazz Club is on track to open in late 2026, though an exact grand-opening date hasn't been announced. Guests staying at or visiting Disney's BoardWalk Inn in the coming months should expect ongoing construction as the venue nears completion.
