Disney World Shutters Iconic EPCOT Location, Fans React

Disney’s BoardWalk is an iconic destination filled with charm, entertainment, and great dining options. However, a noticeable vacancy has left many fans speculating about what could be next. The prime location near Jellyrolls has remained empty, sparking plenty of buzz among Disney enthusiasts.

The former Big River Grille and Brewing Works closed its doors in January 2024 after a sudden announcement. This closure left an empty space on the BoardWalk for nearly a year, with no official word from Disney about what could take its place. Fans are eager to see something exciting move in to bring new energy to this beloved spot.

What Could Disney Add to the BoardWalk?

With its waterfront views and central location, the space offers endless possibilities. A themed restaurant could be a natural fit—perhaps something inspired by a beloved Disney movie, offering immersive decor and a creative menu. A specialty café featuring desserts or exclusive drinks, similar to Gideon’s Bakehouse, could also be a hit among guests seeking unique treats.

Another idea is an entertainment venue. Given its proximity to Jellyrolls, Disney could introduce a live music lounge or a speakeasy-style bar to complement the nightlife vibe. Alternatively, the spot could become a relaxing lounge where guests can unwind with small plates and cocktails after a day at the parks.

For those who love browsing unique shops, a boutique or hybrid dining-and-retail experience could also work. Disney has successfully blended shopping and dining before, and this location could offer a one-of-a-kind atmosphere with custom merchandise and signature dishes.

A Future Full of Possibilities

While the closure of Big River Grille marked the end of an era, it also opens the door for something fresh and exciting. Whether it’s a new dining experience, an entertainment hotspot, or something entirely unexpected, fans are hopeful that Disney will make an announcement soon.

Until then, the BoardWalk remains a charming place to visit, with its lively atmosphere and existing restaurants drawing in guests. However, all eyes are on this vacant space, waiting for it to transform into something magical that captures the spirit of Disney magic once again.

What would you like to see added to the BoardWalk? The possibilities are endless, and it’s always fun to dream about what Disney might unveil next!
