Looks like Disney just made another major money move! The entertainment giant dropped a whopping $19.4 million on a massive office building in Celebration, Florida—begging the question: What’s Disney plotting now?

According to Osceola County records, the deal went down on March 5, with Disney sealing the purchase of 1390 Celebration Boulevard. The 106,196-square-foot property—built in 2009—was previously owned by Celebration Advance LLC, an entity tied to Boca Raton-based Rafael Weiss and the Jeffrey J Weiss Living Trust. The purchase wasn’t even publicly listed for sale, making this a low-key but strategic acquisition.
Industry insiders aren’t shocked. Gary Eisenberg, executive manager at Suchman Retail Group in Miami, spilled the tea to the Orlando Business Journal, calling it a “perfect agreement between a tenant and owner,” adding that the location and upkeep of the property made it a solid investment.
So what’s Disney’s plan? While the company hasn’t publicly commented, it’s worth noting that Disney has already been leasing the building for its real estate and Disney Vacation Club operations. By officially purchasing it, the company secures control and eliminates the need to rent. Smart move, Disney.
This isn’t the first time Disney has scooped up property in Celebration. Back in 2014, the company bought a 39% stake in a nearby nine-story office building.
What’s So Special About Celebration, Anyway?
For those who don’t know, Celebration, Florida isn’t just any ordinary town—it’s basically Disney’s brainchild. Founded in the ’90s, the master-planned community was originally designed by The Walt Disney Company as a utopian small-town dream, complete with pastel-colored homes, a charming town center, and that perfect, too-good-to-be-true Disney aesthetic. While Disney sold off most of its ownership years ago, the town still holds a special connection to the company and remains a hotspot for Disney employees and fans alike.
Disney’s Footprint in Osceola County
With this latest purchase, Disney further cements its presence in Osceola County, where it already ranks as the fourth-largest employer. The only ones ahead? The School District of Osceola County, Walmart, and AdventHealth. But let’s be real—when Disney flexes, everyone pays attention.
So, is this just a routine real estate grab, or does Disney have something bigger in the works? With the company staying tight-lipped, fans and industry watchers are left to speculate. One thing’s for sure—when Disney makes a move, it’s never just for fun.
