Disney’s All Star Sports Resort has remained closed since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March of 2020, and today Disney shared the news that the resort will finally be reopening to Guests on March 31, 2022!

During the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, sporadic reopenings of resort hotels took place, with each of the value resorts opening one at a time. Since value resorts, and in particular Disney’s All Star Resorts, are the go-to place to stay for everyone from families traveling on a budget to larger group tours and school groups, having all of three of the resorts open (Disney’s All Star Movies, Music, and now Sports) will be extremely helpful in allowing more of these Guests to visit the Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney’s All Star Sports Resort will also be the last Walt Disney World Resort hotel to reopen, meaning that as of March 31, 2022, all Disney resort hotels will once again be available for Guests to visit and for booking future vacations for the first time since March 2020. This two year closure of Disney’s All Star Sports Resort marks the longest time that an already completed Disney resort has remained closed for any given reason, so we are thrilled to see the resort open again!

Disney’s All Star Resorts are located near Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and stays at the resorts include complimentary bus service to all four Walt Disney World theme parks, the two waterparks, and to Disney Springs. Guests hoping to take advantage of the new Sunshine Flyer service for transportation between their resort and the airport will also be able to book a trip aboard the Flyer from this resort.

Booking opens for Disney’s All Star Sports Resort beginning on December 22, 2022 on disneyworld.com. Happy planning!
