Missing the classic Magic Kingdom afternoon parade? So are we! Thankfully, we just learned of the return date for Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade, and we can’t wait to see our favorite floats and dancers making their way through the Magic Kingdom very soon.
The Disney Parks Blog just shared the news that Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade will return to the Magic Kingdom on March 9, 2022!
The parade, which features iconic floats from classic Disney animated films and a full-sized, steampunk-inspired fire-breathing dragon for Maleficent has been paused since the reopening of the parks in 2020. The dragon runs 26 ft. tall by 35 ft. long and is one of the most fascinating and memorable experiences within the parade, so we can’t wait to have it back! Elements of the parade have been used for special after-hours events in the Magic Kingdom, including the dragon, but the parade as a whole has not been performed in nearly two years.
The parade features favorite characters from hit films by Walt Disney Animation Studios including The Princess and the Frog (2009), Tangled, (2010), Peter Pan (1953), Cinderella (1950), Frozen (2013), Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Chip, Dale, and so many more.
