The Disney Parks Blog just shared the news that Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade will return to the Magic Kingdom on March 9, 2022!

The parade, which features iconic floats from classic Disney animated films and a full-sized, steampunk-inspired fire-breathing dragon for Maleficent has been paused since the reopening of the parks in 2020. The dragon runs 26 ft. tall by 35 ft. long and is one of the most fascinating and memorable experiences within the parade, so we can’t wait to have it back! Elements of the parade have been used for special after-hours events in the Magic Kingdom, including the dragon, but the parade as a whole has not been performed in nearly two years.

The parade features favorite characters from hit films by Walt Disney Animation Studios including The Princess and the Frog (2009), Tangled, (2010), Peter Pan (1953), Cinderella (1950), Frozen (2013), Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Chip, Dale, and so many more.

Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade first debuted on March 9, 2014, with its original songs, unique costuming, and a daily dose of classic Disney magic for Guests visiting Walt Disney World’s flagship park. Since then it has become a favorite experience for Guests visiting the park, and we cannot wait to see it make its return very soon.

Some favorite floats in the parade include characters like Tinker Bell and Captain Hook, Prince Phillip alongside the Maleficent dragon, a host of dancers moving to the beats of The Little Mermaid, and more.

The parade route in the Magic Kingdom begins in Frontierland and runs through Liberty Square, around the hub in front of Cinderella Castle before continuing down Main Street giving Guests plenty of space to find a spot to watch the parade. Disney has not yet released times for the parade, by typically it takes place daily in the afternoon at either 2:00 pm or 3:00 pm. Be sure to check a Times Guide or the My Disney Experience app during your next Walt Disney World vacation to confirm times for the parade and additional entertainment.
