Annual Passholders at Walt Disney World enjoy several exclusive perks, including discounts, dedicated merchandise, and complimentary parking. But one of the most sought-after benefits is the collectible Passholder magnet, featuring favorite Disney characters.
Over the years, these magnets have highlighted beloved figures like Mickey Mouse, Tinker Bell, Timon and Pumbaa, and Hei Hei.

Since Disney distributes these magnets in person at EPCOT rather than mailing them out, guests often line up for hours at Creations Shop to claim their souvenir.
Despite the long waits, Passholders eagerly collect each new design. However, this time, many visitors were disappointed when they arrived to find that the highly anticipated Ray magnet had run out earlier than expected.
Ray Passholder Magnet Gone Sooner Than Expected
Disney originally announced that the latest Annual Passholder magnet, featuring Ray from The Princess and the Frog (2009), would be available at EPCOT’s Creations Shop from January 21 through February 28, 2025.

The design, which showcased Ray reaching toward his beloved Evangeline, was an instant favorite among fans. Unfortunately, distribution did not last as long as planned.
By February 16, guests arriving at EPCOT were told that the Ray magnet was no longer available.
Disney’s Official Statement
In response to the complaints, Disney provided an update on the My Disney Experience app:
“Please pardon any inconvenience, but the Ray Passholder magnet will no longer be available for pickup at EPCOT after February 16, 2025. From February 17 through February 28, 2025, Passholders will have the opportunity to pick up a Minnie Mouse Passholder magnet at Creations Shop in EPCOT during normal operating hours.”
“Didn’t get the chance to collect the Ray Passholder magnet? Passholders who visit EPCOT between February 17 and February 28 may be eligible to receive a Ray Passholder magnet in the mail later this spring. To receive a Ray magnet, be sure to confirm or update the address for each Passholder in your household, with a valid US mailing address.”

To help address concerns, Disney offered a Minnie Mouse magnet as a substitute. However, many guests were underwhelmed, noting that Minnie Mouse has been featured on previous magnets multiple times.
Additionally, it remains unclear if this batch of magnets was newly printed or simply leftover stock.
As always, Passholders looking to pick up magnets in person must bring both a valid Annual Pass and a government-issued photo ID. Each Passholder is limited to one magnet.

Final Thoughts
The unexpected shortage of Ray Passholder magnets has left some Disney fans disappointed, though Disney’s decision to offer a replacement and a potential mail-in option helps ease the frustration. However, this situation raises questions about whether Disney will better anticipate demand for future releases.
