Disney’s Sneaky Price Increase on Refillable Mugs Leaves Guests Angry

Disney fans know that part of the magic of visiting the parks lies in the little things—the special perks that make each trip unique. One of those perks has long been the refillable mugs offered at Disney Resort hotels and water parks.

However, the magic is starting to feel a bit more expensive, as Disney has quietly raised the price of these beloved mugs to $22.99, up from the previous $21.99.

For years, refillable mugs have been a must-have for many Disney fans. These mugs allow guests to enjoy unlimited refills of drinks like coffee, soda, iced tea, and water for up to 14 days during their stay. While the mugs are only refillable at Disney Resort hotels and water parks (and not inside the theme parks), they offer a convenient way for guests to stay refreshed without constantly reaching for their wallets.

This latest price increase has sparked conversation among Disney superfans, many of whom are already feeling the effects of rising costs across the parks. Just this week, Disney also raised the prices of its annual passes, with some passes increasing by as much as $100. For loyal Disney visitors, these price hikes are becoming harder to ignore.

“Every time I go, it seems like something costs a little more,” one fan shared on social media. “I get that Disney is expanding and offering new experiences, but at some point, you start to wonder if it’s worth it.”

Others, however, are more understanding of the price increases, especially when considering Disney’s massive investment in park expansions and new attractions.

“I’ll pay a little extra if it means getting new rides and better experiences,” another fan commented. “The refillable mugs are still a great deal if you use them often during your stay.”

The question of value is key. For those who spend a lot of time at their resort, the refillable mug still offers a good return on investment, particularly if you make multiple trips to the pool or grab breakfast at the resort each day. But for those who spend most of their time at the parks, the limited locations for refills may make the price harder to justify.

Ultimately, the price increase on refillable mugs is part of Disney’s larger strategy of aligning its prices with the value of its offerings. As the parks continue to expand and introduce new experiences, guests can expect costs to rise. But for many Disney superfans, the magic is worth it—even if it comes at a higher price.

For now, the refillable mug remains a cherished part of the Disney experience. But as prices continue to climb, fans are left wondering: how much higher can they go before the magic starts to fade? Only time will tell.
