Don"t Miss A Thing At Disney World's 50th Anniversary... Here's How To Do It!

50th Anniversary

On a crisp fall day in 1971, Roy Disney saw to it that Walt Disney World resort opened its gates to massive and eager crowds. Improving upon the shortcomings of Disneyland (e.g. increased real estate), Disney World has become a landmark destination for worldwide visitors. Young and old alike have flocked to the gates of the enchanting Magic Kingdom and the subsequent parks. Before we know it, (in 2021) the resort will turn fifty-years-old and that guarantees one thing. A massive celebration! From the unveiling of new attractions to new hotels, there are countless reasons to visit Disney World in the next couple of years. Keeping that in mind, please heed our tips for capturing every magical moment.

Stay on Property

It goes without saying that to maximize your Disney vacation, you must stay on property. Not only does this give you the ability to make FastPass+ reservations sooner, but you will also have access to Extra Magic Hours. (This is when the parks are open earlier or later for on-site guests only.)

If this has convinced you to stay on property, keep your eyes peeled for the opening of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser resort. This immersive hotel allows guests to not only see the Star Wars universe but to live in it for an unforgettable two-night stay. (Since the maximum stay is two nights though, we recommend your supplement your week-long vacation with a reservation at one of the newly renovated Value Resorts. The new rooms at Pop Century truly rival The Contemporary.) Regardless of which one you pick, the benefits of staying on property outweigh any savings from an off-site hotel. Extra time in the parks is priceless!
