Fantasyland Area Abruptly Blocked off at Disneyland, Effective Immediately

Something keeps drawing construction crews back to a small corner of Fantasyland at Disneyland Park, and management at Disneyland Resort is saying why. Here's what anyone planning a trip to the original Southern California Disney park needs to know.

Third Time Around for Edelweiss Snacks

Edelweiss Snacks, a Quick-Service dining kiosk in Fantasyland, is once again surrounded by construction walls and scaffolding draped in beige scrim fabric. According to WDWNT, the barriers went up this week — marking the third time in under a year that the building has been pulled into a refurbishment project.

The first round began last summer, when scaffolding and fabric scrim appeared on the front and right sides of the structure. That work came and went without much fanfare, leaving behind little more than some cosmetic touch-ups. The kiosk stayed open throughout the construction, and the menu didn't change.

A second project followed in February 2026, when Disneyland Resort officially announced Edelweiss Snacks would shut down for refurbishment, suggesting interior work was on the agenda this time. The kiosk reopened on March 5, looking largely the same as before, again with no menu changes.

Now, just weeks later, the walls and scrims are back up.

Still Serving Through the Construction

Despite the latest round of work, Edelweiss Snacks remains open. Guests can still order through a window, with the usual lineup of turkey legs, bratwurst, frozen drinks, and fountain beverages available.

Disneyland Resort has not offered any explanation for the repeated construction activity or indicated how long this latest project will last. For now, there's no indication the kiosk will close again, though that could shift depending on what crews find once work gets underway.
