Guests visiting EPCOT during the Independence Day holiday have more than fireworks to look forward to this year. Disney has once again introduced a limited-time character experience that adds even more patriotic spirit to the park, giving visitors the chance to meet Mickey Mouse and several familiar friends in costumes that only appear during this special celebration.

With 2026 marking America's 250th birthday, the festivities feel even more significant. From exclusive character outfits to collectible autograph cards and seasonal entertainment, The American Adventure pavilion has become one of the busiest destinations in World Showcase.
Mickey and Friends Dress for the Occasion
Throughout the Fourth of July weekend, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto are greeting guests together near The American Adventure pavilion.
The trio is wearing special “Spirit of '76” outfits inspired by Colonial America. Mickey and Goofy sport matching red coats accented with blue trim and gold buttons, while Pluto completes the patriotic look with a red, white, and blue sash.

Returning guests may notice one small difference compared to previous years. Mickey and Goofy have left behind the Colonial-style hats that were once part of the costumes, creating a slightly updated appearance while keeping the familiar patriotic theme.
Disney has also created a festive photo location complete with red, white, and blue decorations, making it easy for families to capture memorable holiday pictures.
The characters appear in rotating sets throughout the day, so guests may need to check wait times or return later if the meet and greet is temporarily between appearances.
Chip ‘n' Dale Have Their Own Holiday Greeting
Not far away, Chip ‘n' Dale are celebrating Independence Day with their own dedicated meet and greet near the America Gardens Theatre.
The mischievous duo is dressed in patriotic sashes that match the overall holiday theme while greeting guests against another decorated backdrop featuring bunting and seasonal flowers.
Because the two meet separately from Mickey and friends, guests have another opportunity to collect unique photos without everyone waiting in one location.
Disney has also created exclusive autograph cards for both meet-and-greet locations.
The cards feature the characters' signatures on one side, while the opposite side celebrates America's 250th birthday with artwork inspired by The American Adventure pavilion.
For collectors, they're another fun souvenir that's only available during this seasonal event.
The Fourth of July Celebration Continues Across EPCOT
While the character greetings are drawing plenty of attention, they're only one part of EPCOT's holiday festivities.
Each evening from July 3 through July 5, guests can watch the return of the popular “Heartbeat of Freedom” fireworks finale immediately following

: The Symphony of Us (2023). The additional fireworks have become one of Disney World's signature Fourth of July traditions.
Spaceship Earth also receives patriotic lighting after sunset, giving the park's centerpiece a completely different look throughout the holiday weekend.

Meanwhile, Voices of Liberty performs special patriotic concerts inside The American Adventure pavilion, with additional performances scheduled on Independence Day.
Together, these offerings make EPCOT one of the most festive places to celebrate the Fourth of July anywhere at Walt Disney World.
For guests already planning to visit the park this weekend, stopping by The American Adventure to meet Mickey and his friends in their rare holiday costumes is one more experience worth adding to the day's itinerary.
