La Poutinerie is just weeks away from opening its doors in the Canada World Showcase Pavilion at EPCOT, and construction crews are clearly in the home stretch of getting it ready for Canada Day.
Stonework Reaches the Chimney

WDWNT reported on June 11 that crews have begun applying decorative stonework to the chimney facade at La Poutinerie, continuing the hand-laid stone aesthetic that was previously installed on the exterior support columns of the former Refreshment Port building. The treatment is consistent throughout the structure, giving the chimney the same textured, deliberately crafted appearance already visible in the lower portions of the building.
At least one side of the chimney had not yet received its stonework at the time of the report, suggesting the decorative work is still in progress. Signage for La Poutinerie also hasn't been installed on the roof yet; the same roofline that was repainted gray in early June. With the July 1 opening now just a few weeks out, the finishing touches are coming together quickly.
How We Got Here

The journey from Refreshment Port to La Poutinerie has been a months-long transformation. The Quick-Service kiosk — known for its DOLE Whip and specialty poutines — closed in January 2026 for what Walt Disney World Resort initially described only as a refurbishment. It wasn't until months later that the resort confirmed the Refreshment Port name was gone for good, replaced by a new concept developed in partnership with Air Canada.
La Poutinerie will specialize in poutine and other Canadian-inspired fare, and its opening will formally absorb the former Refreshment Port footprint into the Canada World Showcase Pavilion — expanding the pavilion's presence along that stretch of World Showcase. Walt Disney World Resort updated its official website earlier this month to confirm the menu and announce that July 1, 2026 — Canada Day — will be the grand opening date.
